As my glove box door is currently taken apart here is a reference picture showing the emblem with the pins and retaining clips intact, as it was originally assembled.

This worked for mine.

so if i already purchased a JDM reproduction emblem the only way to stick is using gorilla tape? 

No, you could separate the halves of the glove box door and install it like the factory did

Already installed the emblem. However, while adjusting the height so the lid could close properly 2 of the plastic tabs broke. I decided to order the skillard aluminium glove box and rear lid.

I like the door hinge. In 2020 I had to fit a new hinge in my glove box and used this because I didn't know Skillard made these:

Well i bought both skillard panel and glovebox. However since i have the gen II mini the metal glovebox wont fit. Now what?? Another roadblock.

Sometimes you have to adapt and fabricate when necessary. I understand this is not the solution you are looking for. Figure out where it’s binding and make an adjustment as needed. Once you move away from factory specs customization always seems to create problems such as what you’re running into now.

I guess if i had bought the cardboard one it would have been easier to bend and get it in that hole.

Well this was my approach to replacing the original cardboard and fabricating a glovebox. My only  concern is how ro remove the clock gauge if the led burns and i need to replace it.  Also if i need to remove or service the ac evaporator it will be difficult as the back panel is glued with silicone.
