I was buying ethyl I guess. Ran like nitrous, much colder. Carbs would frost up late in the day.

Looks like the green must be unleaded. I always go for the highest grade at the pump when I go to the airport to buy fuel, and 100LL (100 octane low lead) is usually the highest grade.

I’ll need to have a look when I go next time, and see if they have the unleaded.

Thanks Cliff.

So this site lists, but doesn’t really describe the differences in the green and blue dyed 100 octane avgas. I did find a Shell avgas site that does.

So the green dyed avgas is an older formulation that has tetra ethyl lead in it, and the blue dyed avgas has a lower amount of lead in it than the green dyed fuel, hence, the “LL” designation.

Sheesh, I learn something new everyday.

My ‘75Z has been languishing for the last two years, but, now I’m on a mission to finish refurbishing it.  Well, it’s more accurate to say that I’m now willing to pay to have the remaining work done.  I’m getting old. LOL

Yesterday, my mechanic finished installing set of Koni struts to replace the original struts from ‘75.  Huge improvement over those old struts.

My mechanic is currently going through the used 5-speed I picked up a few years ago and hopefully, it’ll be installed in a couple of weeks, along with a lightened flywheel and a new clutch kit.  We’re also talking about a new exhaust system.  And then there’s that used 3.90:1 diff I picked up with the 5-speed…

Found a Japanese registration plate and put it on the front bumper. I don't think it's real.

I won't run it because it's not a real Japanese market car but it does look a bit more natural than the American state plate that usually sits in its place. b1e47369ea0b20130f2d187b523eff32.jpg

I installed some Wesco Roadster seat belts in the 240Z yesterday. They replaced some other Wesco belts that anchored at 3 points. I installed those probably 17 or 18 years ago.

With the new belts in place, it was time to go to a car meet. Overall, about 9 or 10 Z cars showed up, but they were scattered about the meet. It was beautiful weather and a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

Cool Pathfinder…..you NEVER see those anymore,  I’ve spent a lot of time in junkyards there past few years and I haven’t seen one in there either.   Nice little gem you have there.
