The weird capitalization makes me queasy.  $1, no VIN, email your phone number...?  Looks scammy, or at least a strange person to deal with.

I'm not sure  that I get the same feeling about this seller as you do, Zed Head.  As shown below, the seller provided pictures of the Data Plate in the driver's door jamb, the Data Plate in the engine bay and the Engine Number.  However, now that I think about it a little more, I don't ever recall seeing a seller only looking for a best offer before. Normally, the seller will always have an asking price.

It's Just an Odd Way to Write.  A couple of Capitals for Emphasis is Normal but When You Sprinkle so Many in they Make Little Sense.  It's Actually Harder to keep Hitting the Shift Button to write in This Weird Way.  Which Makes it Even Weirder.  Hence Queasy.

$26,750.  That was a weird auction.

Guy sounded like a boxing coach or hype guy at the end. Looks like his strategy payed off, though.

What the heck is that mounted over the data plate? Never seen that before.

The voltage regulator has been relocated from its usual position and it's hood cover is missing.  Might be something to do with clearance when the dealer installed ac was added.

Nevertheless, a dumb place to put it and ruin the data plate.   I have seen that exact same thing done before.

Here's another '72 that looks to be a very solid, 2-owner car with all of its original documentation and receipts that I saw on the on the Santa Barbara, CA Craigslist:  https://santabarbara.craigslist.org/cto/d/buellton-1972-datsun-240z-owner-runs/7319522658.html

1972 Datsun 240Z 2 owner runs drives great! - $28,888 (Buellton)

 Steve  (805) 331-2184

This is a two owner 1972 240Z that was sold new at Miller Datsun on Van Nuys Blvd , it has had just two owners and has full history from new . The car is completely rust and accident free all sheet metal is original to the car . Car has had a full repaint with the windows out and now looks and runs great . Pictures are to show the condition of the floors the carpets and seats are installed and the car is useable but it does need some minor finishing which we can do or discount and let the buyer finish . sensibly priced at $28, 888 we are California dealer so must charge tax and license fees if sold in Ca ....

 VIN: HLS3067141

Blue 73 with red tow hooks.  I wonder what happens if you pull on them.

A nicely done car that went for a lot of money.

I noticed something I've never seen before.

These braces.

Where do I get some?

Those are used on the 81-83 280ZX F54 block and 5 speed transmission.  Earlier doesn't have the holes.  Apparently it's an NVH reducing device.  Somebody must have identified some flex between the transmission and engine block.

They do look cool.

I don't know how that white one sold for 16 grand. Far better ones have sold for the same price.

They came on later ZX's I have an extra set if you are interested in trying them out.

So a later block would be needed to go with them, right? The earlier blocks don’t have a larger boss cast there with the two holes.
