Just Another Damned Z Car Project Thread

I can’t testify other than what the seller is saying. Rob needs Bosch boots and that’s what I was able to find. Not sure what the issue is. Trying to help a friend out and just pass along some information that could help another member.

I’d guess they are cheap for a reason, but my cars are garage kept and I can always replace them.

No offense intended, I had OEM in mind after I made my own post. I was actually going to suggest calling your local Porsche dealer and getting "factory" boots. Knockoffs and counterfeits are a big problem these days.

The injectors get pretty hot. I made the mistake of using shrink tubing with adhesive when I replaced my crunchy old connectors with Volvo connectors. I just spliced in the wires though, no depinning. After the first drive I had puddles of glue on the heat shield below them.

I have a buddy who owns 914Rubber.com. As you might imagine, he makes repro-rubber parts for Porsche. I ordered 4 extra boots to send to him for reverse - engineering if he so desires. He supplies Stoddard, Pelican Parts, Sierra Madre and such. If he chooses to do it, and he might because all LJet Porsche cars wear boots, he knows rubber manufacturing and will actually produce something that will work.

I’m not really worried about it. What keeps me up at night is learning to wire and program for sequential injection!🤯

No worries it’s all good. We all want to see another Z back on the road including mine.

It will be too late for your car @Yarb. I showed my wife a waterfront house in Tampa the other day. A couple hundred grand less than our current home with a pool and a Gulf of whatever it is these days. She told me it would all be under water within a few years so, no, we can’t move to Tampa. 😫

Sad Very Sad!

I know right? My cousin Julie with the LeFluer Gymnastic school is there, my friend TC is there. With you, there’d be two Z cars there! 🤓

@duffymahoney how does this work? Does one DBW device drive all three DCOE TB’s? Pictures please?

This unit mounts below a single throttle body, this exact setup is only for efi hardware to perhaps the mikuni throttle bodies. Since their butterflies open the opposite way of any other throttle on the market, I have another direction unit I could use as well. That would work for jenvy, borla etc...

Its designed to actuate a single arm on a throttle or the overheard bar. Depends on the setup. Currently I have 3 others using it.

My intake, perhaps the jenvy tilted up intake and perhaps the FET intakes could work with it. Pushing it up and away from the header.
