Meet Zella. My 1975 Datsun 280z

Damn that's a nice car.
Technical question... It's got no antenna and fender mirrors, yet red rear turn signals... European? I see a mirror in the old pics, on the drive side. Did Europe only have one mirror?
Or possibly converted North American? Can't see if there was an antenna on the old pics, maybe it was patched...

She's a beauty!  Are there many Z's in Dubai?  Any pics of the engine bay?

They aren't a lot of 'em here but they are definitely getting popular. You've probably seen the famous yellow one out of Dubai: https://www.instagram.com/p/BhGokKjn-b_/

So it does have an antenna, but it's on the other side. You can see it in the photo below.

The fender mirrors are after-market, and came originally with just one mirror on the drivers side. It's a 280z imported from the U.S.

Fantastic job on this one, looks great!

Will you use the rear louvers?  I see you left the hinges, I have the same type hanging on the wall of my garage.

Good eye! The louvers are in the shop getting painted the same color as the bumpers. Not sure if I'll put em back on the car, but will try em on after the paint and decide.

Your original pics show the car in 77-78 style bumpers... interesting! What is the production date on the door tag?

Well Zella is pretty hot! Nice bumper conversion. What tire and wheel size did you go with?

You won’t get much by the enthusiasts in this forum....they see everything. 🧐

So the door tag was lost a few years ago, apparently they removed it when they were doing paint re-touchups and they never put it back (photo below). I looked up the VIN number against the production date and it looks like its a 75. Maybe one of the previous owners replaced the bumpers? Anything else I can look at to confirm if its a 75?

Love all the investigative work on this forum!

Thank you! The wheels are Rota RB 16*7". And the tires are 205/50/R16.Took a lot of back-and-forths to get the tire size right but pretty happy how it came out.

You have the correct door latches for a 75-76 280Z the distance from your door edge to the door lock pull looks to be the correct 14cm meaning early 280Z. The doors and a few other things changed in August 76.
It’s quite possible someone bolted on different rubber bumper covers on the original bumpers for some reason.

What’s your VIN? Mine is a 76 with a 9/75 production date. HLS30-271295

You can also order a new door plate for your car from Zeddsaver in Canada too.

Maybe horn pad, if the original steering wheel is still in place. Some emission parts on top of the intake are different through the years.
