Hi,

I received two dashes and each one had too much vinyl cut away - either at the center gauges or at the vents.

Am I just extremely unlucky? Is this a new problem with a new batch? Or is this normal and most people accept this?

Did you go back to them and ask about it? From what I've heard from other people, they stand behind their product.

First photo is from the first dash and the other one is from the replacement.

The problem is that the commmunication is not very good (it took me a couple of months to get a replacement) and I live in Germany which always causes additional shipping and fees with customs.

The replacement dash look better at the center gauges, but the air vents are now the problem.
But TBH I lost faith in them. Before shipping I received photos which showed the center gauge area and the photos were not from the dash that I then eventually received.

There is no alternative, so I either have to live with it or find a way to repair it.

I know that you want to help me and I appreciate it, but I still would like my original questions answered. I was offered a refund, if I sent back the dash, but I need a good dash.

I don't know that there are that many Vintage Dashes out there to evaluate.  I'd also bet that many of them are sitting in their boxes waiting for the rest of the car to get done.

You might be doing them a favor by pointing out this problem.  It's not clear who you've been talking to and the details.  The part about the refund is new.

I agree that somebody screwed up on the trimming of your two dashes.  This is the best place to discuss it.  They need to reply.  @theguppies

FWIW, I bought a 240Z Vintage Dashes unit a few years ago, assembled it, and then put it aside until I was ready to install it (still a few years off, likely).  I don't remember any such issues.  Hung Vu is a lot more active on the Datsun Facebook groups than here, so you may want to reach out to him there if you haven't already.

No replies to my email, FB message or to the phone number listed earlier in this thread. I have to wonder if they still are in operation. Can't find a valid address for the company either.

I just reached out to Hung Vu on FB. He's having supply chain issues with the supplier.
