Lightweight Flywheels

Is it possible the are reporting the XTR weight based on rotating mass? Like with the clutch and pressure plate attached?

I agree, if you are buying a NEW flywheel.

I did buy a new flywheel from RockAuto (standard, off the shelf) and took it to the local machine shop where they shaved it down to around 15.5 lbs. Cost for work 3 years ago was around $150.

Now if I way smart and saved a flywheel from one of the cars I parted out.... lessons learned.

By the time I get out of my driveway I'm used to the 10lb Tilton I have.  I love the light flywheels.  Learned that long ago with one on a 2.5 Mercury outboard.  Hole shot was unbelievable.
