Greg,

It was amazing to watch how far into turn 1 you could drive before getting on the brakes compared to the rest of the field. It always looked like you were going to end up in the gravel. I agree, you were catching the 17 car every lap. I think with time you could have run him down. Seems like Sam built a nice car.

Charles

Hi Charles,

Thanks a lot. That's one of the keys to a fast lap there, and a good passing zone. See you next time.

Greg

I look forward to it. Will you be around at Zconn in October. Would love to have some insight into the track when we get to go out...

Andy Doll and I are members of ZROC. Central Ohio. Andy built a beautiful car over the past two years. Tough to end up in the tires when they worked all day Thursday to get it running with clutch issues. Mine #50 is an ITS car. Very stock. We are refining it😎  John Morton came by to sign Andy's door.👍

I got plenty of photos of the two of you on the track. I felt bad for Andy when I saw the right side had been severely pancaked. I'll eventually get links up to the photos.

Thanks, like to have photos.

PS I’m the guy who traveled from The Republic of Korea in 1970 to watch the “RRofChampions. Saw John Morton and BRE win in that beautiful 240Z. Came home in May 1971, ordered our Z, it has 87,000 miles. And, in 2018 got to race against John at Road Atlanta in my other 240Z. 😀 What a great weekend.

ZCCOR#109......I was at Road Atlanta also in 1970.....we looked over the fence at the top of the Esses. Probably one of the most exciting times of my life when I saw the Datsuns screaming through the Esses after the parade lap. I too went out and purchased my first (1970) Z after I saw John blow away the competition. John should get a commission for every Nissan I’ve bought since......and it’s been a lot!  :beer:   BTW....I was also at this year’s Mitty.

Regards

Guy

My first ever trip to Georgia and Road Atlanta was in 1972. We flew down and rented the cheapest car we could. A Ford Pinto. Ha!  Low budget in those days.

I also recall having some rain. It was then I discovered how slippery that red Georgia clay can be. Heck of a time getting that Pinto to

move from where we were parked. I remember the Paddock and all the Datsuns were under one large tent, I think it was paid for by Datsun. Wish I could find those photos.

I was camping above the esses in that same Georgia red clay this year. Excitement, and the roar at 8 AM never got old!

At least it was dry for the entire weekend. All of the rain happened during the week.

Having a Front Row seat at the entrance to the Front straight was very interesting,...

I saw & heard Randy's 46 Tribute launch early in the day....it sounded like it had a misfire or burnt valve first pull..... I was bumming when i heard it threw a rod.

Great effort to get her running again, when it broke the tranny later i was shocked.

Great Event and enjoyed seeing everyone !!
