  1. I didn't find this elsewhere on the site, which is surprising because it looks like a pretty good series on engine rebuilding and modification based on an L28: http://www.kangamotorsports.com/blog/2016/5/12/tired-old-engine
  2. Updates: https://autoweek.com/article/empire-hill-climb/datsun-280zmercedes-v12-empire-hill-climb-engine-swap-update-tick-tick https://www.drivingline.com/articles/race-car-spotting-a-home-built-v12-powered-datsun-280z/

  4. '73 - or at least the back window. Can't recall if that was available on earlier Canadian cars. Looks like a decent project 👍
  5. It's the replica - real one was totaled decades ago.
  6. That question's been around since the water method has been used. Water is the baseline for specific gravity at 1.00; gasoline s.g. varies but is about .74. So water density is about 25% higher, which is why gas floats on water. The float would also sit higher in water. Someone with a dial indicator could compare the two and come up with a more accurate number for this. https://www.sunocoracefuels.com/tech-article/specific-gravity-matter Oh ... and witches, of course 😉
  7. This Wheeler Dealers Toyota Celica project had one of the dreaded aftermarket sunroofs, so they went with Plan B to fix it - filling the hole with a piece of sheet metal rather than replacing the entire roof. The extensive weld-and-fill process was left off, but the video does show cutting and tacking the panel beginning at 22:30
  8. I'm posting this here because I've tried to get Mike's help with no results. Apparently something happened along the way to wizz off the website or server and it keeps asking me for a new email address because the one I used to create my login here has had some kind of mail issues. My mail server spam settings have been reset but this site still asks for a different email address - which I don't have. And I can't access my profile info to see what can be done to change it. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution -- other than creating a new email address just for this site? Thanks!
  9. Listing includes good backstory on the racer: https://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/datsun/240z/315626
  10. Comparison pic of replacement and original needle valves from a previous discussion. Also, Grose Jets have detractors -- good concept but not perfect. Google has some background info. https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47304-1972-float-adjustment/?page=7&tab=comments#comment-543113
  11. Thanks to Mattel, the band finally got back together
  12. Not out yet, but another one to watch for. Hot Wheels, btw
  13. Yokohama added a Fleva line to their Advan series in the US this spring. While it's not the ultimate performance tire, it's promoted as a design with good handling characteristics and low noise. Nothing smaller than 15" though. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=ADVAN+Fleva+V701
  14. For "simple" carbs, there's always another unique approach to improving their operation! The Des Hammill "Power Tune" book mentions the array of springs available for the true SU carbs. Being in the UK, you might have access to these to see if they will work with the Hitachis as well. Keep us posted -- eagerly awaiting the release of your next video!
  15. The seller, 240Z Guild, offered 5 copies of the restoration guide on facebook and they sold in minutes. 😕
  16. One more chapter - beautiful photography 👍 http://www.speedhunters.com/2019/06/metal-perfection-mzrs-widebody-240z
  17. There’s a seller with a stack of these 50th anniversary posters from the New York Auto Show (not my listing): https://www.ebay.com/itm/LIMITED-EDITION-NISSAN-HERITAGE-50th-ANNIVERSARY-POSTER-370Z-BRAND-NEW/401769059430
