Interesting engine choice, any idea why they wanted to try a Honda engine?

Yes. The owner came in because he liked the 240 style but had owned a S2000. He wanted to know if it could done and had the $$$$ to open a checkbook. Car came from Spokane and the drivetrain is Japanese import to avoid most of the US sensors. AC is Honda vintage air combo. Dash will look totally stock. Obviously a totally custom suspension with a Nissan LSD and Willwood brakes.
Engine has been started and car should move under its own power before end of year.

240+ HP and 160 FtLbs of torque aught to push a Z chassis around pretty well. I would think it would have a different feel more HP, less torque...

Still don't know the final HP but for sure it is lighter and engine sits behind the front subframe. Could be special on track days. We'll see this coming summer.

Check out this car. BMW 2002 with Honda S2000 drivetrain. It's being built by Original Customs in Grand Rapids Michigan for a customer in NorCal. They have a website and a Facebook page. The swap is done and moves under its own power. The stock HP and Torque numbers have already been reported here but the motors real claim to fame is its 9000 rpm redline.

Nice to see someone using this interesting engine in a Z!

I would love to see this thing in person. Too bad we're on opposite coasts.

If I make the trip, it won't be until it's done so I can drive it.   :victorious:

These photos don't do it justice. It is a specific build for someone who knows what he wants. The weather here won't be good enough to really test it until June or after the 4th of July. More photo to come.
