I wore jeans (blue or white, the latter if I was dating) Nike running shoes, either a polo shirt or a button-front shirt (white cotton or some light stripes) with a belt, and a light windbreaker.  Sorry, no gold or jewelry, besides a Timex watch and the heart locket my sweetie gave me.

But I didn't own a Zed back then.  If I wasn't on my bike, I had an AMC Spirit with 225/70-14s on Cragar rims on the back, and we painted a blue stripe down the side under the windows, and I usually had a blanket and a guitar in the back.

Pressed black Jeans, a nice Polo shirt and Converse low cut runners. Nice light runner with a thin sole that was nice and narrow. Great for heal and toeing.  Come to think of it.. I did seem to have a lot more Female companions during those days. Hmmm...

I was a stud and so were my wrist bands. At least that's how I remember it.

In my school, a stud wore blue jeans and sneakers, could do 200 push-ups, run the 100m in 10-flat, and play a mean "Bass" guitar.

I don't use gloves with metal snaps.  I once bumped a metal fence, and it grabbed the snap and made a gash in my skin.  I will keep using the Velcro- or elastic-wrist gloves.

Why bother?

A couple days ago I asked if anyone had a picture of how they dressed when their Z was new.  That started me searching to see if I had any from 1971.  

Here's a picture of what a well dressed new Z owner (me) wore in November of 1971in Northern Wisconsin.  I was an Air Force 1st Lieutenant fresh back from living in the Philippines for a year and a half while keeping the world safe from Communism.  Be sure to check out the white leather sheepskin lined jacket I had picked up in India while traveling around Asia.  Also note the grey cashmere turtleneck sweater.  I was cooler than the snow I was standing in.
