Mystery SU Needles -- "369"

Featured Replies

Recently picked up a used set of 3-screw roundtop SU's that I plan to restore as a back-up set and last night when I was disassembling them, I noticed the needles are engraved as "369".  The previous owner said that the carbs were from a '72 SCCA racer, so I'm guessing they're richer needles. I was really hoping to see a ZT serial number on the throttle shaft, but I couldn't find one, but the floats do appear to be newer and the rest of the carb body appears to be in good shape (under about 20 years of dust & grime).

Has anyone heard of a 369 needle?

Guess I stumped everyone with my find of a 369 needle!!  I'll probably just end up putting a set of SM's or N27's in these and see how they work.

Stumps me. I looked through the literature I've got and there's nothing even close.

That's why I hadn't responded to date.

369 Needle is an SM needle.   Just tuned a 71  with these rich bastards.

369 is Beck-Arnley's Part No.

And this is an example of why you're the one and only Hoover.

Well done!! I don't want to know how you dredged up that document, but well done!    :geek:

Life and rediscovering synths... yes I was deeper into them than datsuns.

Yeah, me too. Can't hide under those hoods forever. I love my Zs but their not all beholding. I like this forum and it's members as much as the cars especially during this mess we're in now. "Safer at home" isn't for a social person like me. It was fun for a year but now, not so much.
