December 30, 20168 yr comment_509229 I always enjoyed doing metal fab. I'm impressed with your work and also enjoying the pics. I like metal stuff so much I bought a TIG to start messing with aluminum.Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50908-1976-280z-restoration-project/?&page=88#findComment-509229 Share on other sites
December 31, 20168 yr Author comment_509232 Thanks! I am enjoying the metal work more than I thought I would. I figure the more pics I take, the better reference for later on as well as to help others in the same process as me. I would like a TIG at home but I have access to some nice stuff at work, so as long as the piece is portable, I can do it there. Thanks for the feedback! Nice to know people are following along... December 31, 20168 yr comment_509288 I was cutting a panel 2 or 3 years ago while squatted down beside the car with a 4" grinder with a 1/16th disc. It kicked back and hit me at the end of the quad. Split it right open about 2" long. Still have a nice scar complete with black coloration... December 31, 20168 yr Author comment_509291 6" grinder with a 12amp motor has better control... less kickback and more smooth thru various thicknesses. As I get older I don't heal as well or as fast so I have become more cautious with these sort of things Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50908-1976-280z-restoration-project/?&page=88#findComment-509350 Share on other sites
