Love the leading and trailing calipers. Externally valved shocks.

I wonder why they didn't come up with a better solution for the stabilizer bar? A straight tubular bar above the lower control arm pivots, splined ends with trailing arms connected to the control arm with heim joints would not have ground clearance issues like the one here, attaching under the suspension.

Yes, speedway supply places in the US have splined hollow bars, it's such a simple and effective solution, plus there is the option of various size bars. Twin caliper brakes have advantages except for (unsprung) weight?

They did. The second #33 BSR 240Z was modified to use a straight bar. I have two of them in my garage (1.10 and 1.25 diameters). They hole sawed  both engine bay rails welded in a tube and suspended the bar thru the tubes.

Pretty much every Porsche from the 1980’s back uses this. It’s called a torsion bar. The twisting motion created by one side causes a reaction to the other side that plants the suspension. Very effective.

Notice that the right front tire is not touching the asphalt.

I have a bunch of photos of cars doing that in Turn 10B at Road Atlanta.

Stumbling around the innerwebZ I came across this.

Images of Nissan Skyline DOHC Turbo Group 5 (R30) (1024 x 768)

Not much left that is Skyline, the roof, windshield, engine (in a manner of speaking), and that's about it.

Stripped and ready for restoration.

How is the restoration coming on my dad's old race car?

Looks nice! I'm sorry, maybe I replied incorrectly.  I thought I was replying to Z-envy. He had bought my dad, Jim Bennett's 240Z after my dad sold it to Mr. Fienagle. He was restoring to be a champ car I think he said.
