Z Ink (Look what I did!!!!)

Recommended Posts

This is my third tattoo and I've been dying for something Z related. (The guy who did the tattoo was so excited about my car. He had to call his girlfriend and tell her about it.) Sorry for the aweful picture, but all I had was my camera phone. So this is what I did last night. It's still a little swollen and stuff, but you can see it pretty well. My friends think I'm stupid but hopefully you guys will understand.

This is the one of what I hope to be many.

I've been itching for some more ink myself lately. The one I've been wanting for a while says "Love the Z" in japanese. I saw it on one of the Wangan Midnight websites.

I found a picture, but i would do it with a little different color and a more "traditional" looking Z.

I tried to translate into Nihongo and came up with this,

appearently I can't get "the" to translate.

Zを愛してください。 Please Love Z :)

What if you fall in love with a Celica later?

We will ever so nicely "put you out of your misery" Long drive off of a short cliff? String ya up by yer toes? Tickle torture? Steal your Celica Wheels?

Don't worry, we'll think of something appropriate.

We're nice like that,

Dave.

The is no "the" in Nihongo. It's understood. Consider Z が 大好き Literally translated, it means "I like Z very much," but it can also be interpreted to mean "I love Z."

Somehow I doubt that's ever going to happen. I may fall in love with another car, but I'll never fall out of love with Kharma.

Well, shimmering silver ink to match the shimmering silver car!

It's the age old sailor tatoo story - how do you cover the old flames name? I think a creative artist could work the Celica symbol to cover a Z.

hey thanks for the translations guys. I didn't know if it translated exactly to "love the Z" either, but its from one of the Hot Version DVD's, I believe #86. Anyway type in love the Z in google and you'll see an ad for the DVD. Thanks again.

It was 1965.

The scene was a back street of Saigon.

Four Oz soldiers staggering along, arms around shoulders, supporting each other 'cause we were pi*ssed out of our tiny brains when we came across a tattooist's shop. It was decided to all get a tat. The other three did, I waited outside. Couldn't see the sense in having something painted on me that I couldn't wash off later.

Every reunion since, the other three complain about the "damned things" and I'm blamed for not having talked them out of it. They all habitually wear long sleeved shirts. (With just the cuff rolled up).

Now, .... I'm not saying that my bod is totally unblemished. Apart from the scars from a few operations, the scars made by a very sharp, pointed blade makes for far more interestng story telling that a tat.

Rick.

Yeah, Rick. In 1966 I almost got a Marine Corps emblem tatooed on the back of my hand in Oceanside, CA. Notice I said "almost". I just wasn't pissed enough. I am SO glad that I didn't do that. Mike

Rick/mike

We should start a club - there wasn't enough liquor in Halifax for me to get one.

The lads I hung around with did it as a matter of form - get drunk, get a tatoo. Some were quite elaborate and took several visits to complete. One guy I knew was a bodybuilder and had one that covered his entire back to just below collar height, It was satan sitting on a throne, surrounded by naked, large breasted women with the caption "sworn to fun, loyal to none". I bet his wife likes that, especially now that he's 55 years old.
