Hey guys, I'm almost ready to start this 260Z I've been working on for the past month. It came without the engine bolted in, so needless to say there are missing parts and bolts. I see a fuel supply line, a fuel return, and what I would guess is an EVAP line. The car seems to have an electric fuel pump in addition to the mechanical fuel pump. I imagine since there is a return line, these had some form of pressure regulation system on them. Does anyone have a diagram? Or could describe it in words? Things I'm looking for are, what the pressure should be set to, what side of the FPR the mech. pump should pull it's fuel from, etc. The car has a dual two-barrel carb upgr…

Sorry guys I been reading on the SU and I cant seem to find it or didnt recognize it but here is my question. I have a L28 engine on my 73z and I had tripple carbs but Im converting back to SU Will the Su work and if so what do I need to do to make it work for a higher liter engine? Im just tired of tripple weber carbs and they are very sensitive that I keep adjusting. I just want SU now and I dont race so its a waste to even have tripple webers if im just dailing driving it. I like having good gas milage as well and tripples dont do that for me. Thanks everyone for being patient with me and answering my question on this. Really appreciate it

During constant running, I'm getting a steady drip coming from the mechanical fuel pump. Its gas coming out of the two tiny breather holes on the bottom half. (I can plug one and watch it escape with more pressure on the other side). Now before I go sourcing a new one out, I was wondering if any of you experts ran across this, is it something I can remedy by making new seals for the pump itself?

OK, I searched the archives and didn't find much that helped me, so I'm asking here in hopes ya'll can. I want to check and/or adjust my float levels on my 72. The three manuals I have are pretty much useless, since two of them skip the issue and the other has a useless measurement from the top of the gas in the bowl to the inside of the cap, with the float in and the cap screwed in place. How in the heck are you suppose to measure that ???? In any case, I don't know if they are currently set correctly, but I do know that when I pulled the floats out of the bowls the level of the gas at the bottom of the bowls was around .95" - .98" deep. How does one go about adju…

I wish I had a photo, but it's too soon - I only got my car back from the mechanic last night... Brand new TRIPLE WEBERS on a TWM manifold, fitted and tuned~ Here's some info. for the punters out there considering a triple carb set-up (especially Webers), because I never found a "comprehensive" thread on the website that gives enough info about the topic. So here goes: RESEARCH: The cost of Weber carbs varies greatly between different suppliers, wholesale and retail. I don't want to give any wholesalers or retailers a free "plug" here, especially because I didn't purchase through any. But I did do the research before I bought mine privately, and the price varies a…

I have SU carbs on my 72 240z with a an L28 swap. I tried looking all over the forums for the past few days without much luck. Here's my issue: Once I start the car it will idle fine for a good few mins. It will even rev as high as I want it to, but all of a sudden it would just shut off. After a few starts I was able to isolate that this is a fuel issue. I sprayed carb fluid into the carburetors and the car would stay running. Once the fluid runs out it would die. As soon as it dies I can restart the car back up without a problem. I also checked my fuel pump, it seems to be pumping kinda weak. (have a holly eletrical pump) I disconnected the fuel lines to the carbs and …

I've been looking for velocity stacks now and was recommended pierce manifolds. They have two styles available with two very different prices. What are the pros and cons of flange mount versus the insert type? The one that mounts outside is almost half the price. Flange Mount Insert Mount Thanks!

Ok hers the deal.got a 240z with a l28 motor.it ran pretty good when i got it but way to rich.so bad i couldnt stand the smell...so...i bought a ste syncronizer and a color tune.i have the carbs. Pretty close now...they were way out of sync.only thing is it runs like crap know..seems to be popping alot through the exhaust.and stalling out on take off.the front carb fuel adjustment had to be turned all the way up to get the color tune blue..and i will also say it was hard to get them both in sync. At an accceptabal idle..actualy i couldnt even use the idle screws on the linkage because it would idle to fast...are the carbs sopposed to open at the exact same time.because th…
