Can anyone offer a source for purchasing an OEM rebuilt electric fuel pump? the one I purchased from Black Dragon/Victoria British did not provide adequate flow or pressure. My mechanic is coming up empty handed in trying to find one in stock.

I'm trying to find 2 standard size pistons for my 240-Z motor. Nissan says there are none in the USA. Motorsport does not have them, Kragen can't get them, my local auto parts storen can't get them. Any ideas? Thanks

Hey dudes. Help me. My blue 1976 Datsun 280z was stolen last night from the corner of San Fernando and 12th st. in San Jose. It was there at midnight when I came back from the school shop (working on FSAE) and this morning it was gone. If you guys see this car, let me know. plate# 4PVR522 can't remember the vin off the top of my head mods: GC coils, tokico illuminas, MSA sways, 83 5spd and rear end, and some other random stuff.

I have a 78 280 z and have the engine out of the car. While the engine is out, I want to replace the front seal on the automatic transmission. I have studied the 4 manuals that I own and none give good instructions on how to remove the torque converter and replace the seal. Please help: 1- Does the torque converter just slide forward for removal? 2 - Should I be prepared for fluid loss after the converter is removed? 3 - are there any special tricks to replace the front seal? Thanks in advance for the help

So the last few days my 77 has been starting up, but taking a long time to crank each time and sounding as if the battery is almost dead, but the battery is fine. Today it simply won't start at all, and it's giving me the dead battery treatment, but the battery is fine. Alternator also works. And im getting sparks from the plugs. Could it be the ignition or starter? If so, any tips on how to fix that?

I have a 77 280Z with 5 spd manual trans. The engine was rebuilt and runs great when warm. Cold starts are fine (cold start valve is operational) but I need to keep my foot on the peddle to keep the revs up when cold. As soon as I let off my foot it stalls. Warm idle is fine. Is there a cold idle setting that I can adjust?

I am tinkering on the 280z today and decided to change out the oil pump and put in the zx turbo oil pump. The parts house wants to know if I need the one for the automatic or the manual. I have the 4 speed in the car but since it isn't the "correct" application, I am wondering what the difference is. I will be changing out the oil pump on my turbo conversion (different car-same year) later on. That motor came with an auto but will have the 5 speed when it is done. Again, wondering what the difference is besides $30 bucks? Thanks! Leonard

i usually drive around the neighborhood and my max speed is usually 40mph. one day one on my friends pulled up on the side of me at the stop light and started revving. i never pushed my z hard before so i was curious how it would do. so we just raced to the next light. my max speed was like 55mph. after that i noticed the car started to pull weak and the exhaust sounded like a low pitched rattle. i was goin like 25 all the way home because i couldn't get it to go any higher. when i got home i checked everything and it looked ok. but i noticed the plugs were a black, some of them were a little oily and only the #1 plug was normal. any advice?

So over the last few months ive had some new parts starting to pile up including new floor pans. I know there are some rust issues with the car so i have been contemplating having it blasted down to metal and having it primed so i get get a good solid base to do the body work on. To do this i would like to strip the car down to a the shell myself to save a few bucks on labor time. I have done a search but i cant seem to find any "how to"s on pulling an engine. Is there anyone that could point me to / write up a quick checklist of what has to be unscrewed. I'm mostly concerned about forgetting something from the transmission back and breaking it trying to pull it out. Th…
