well its been a long while since ive been on here as i sold my last z after giving up on the title process... but here i am again two corollas later. i traded my 86 ae86 corolla sr5 the other day for a 78 280z with an l28et 5 speed, 250lb springs sway bars and no rust.. the best and worst part really, is the megasquirt 2 standalone not communicating with the laptop.. best as in this is the reason i was able to make such a sweet trade, worst as i have yet more wiring gremlins to diagnose.. but so far ive come to the conclusion that the ecu simply isnt getting power for one reason or another... a screamin trade and im glad to be back in the z car community with the potentia…

Just looked at the previously mentioned 1977 280Z mentioned in this thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread46102.html The car is a 2 owner vehicle with 118,000. It drove well and pulled to 70 in 4th with no problem (it's a 5 speed btw). It needs shocks bad as well as brakes. The body seemed solid overall and the doors, hatch and hood closed nice and solid as well. The interior was clean and everything seemed to work expect the tach which quit while I was driving it. The passenger frame rail is toast, but the drivers side felt pretty solid. I can handle replacing those parts fairly easily (I own a fab shop). The roof has a pretty good amount of "wave" to it. Not…

If this is in the wrong place, then EXCUSE ME! (with apologies to Steve Martin). I saw this on Ebay and it was so cool I felt I had to share it with you guys. I had never seen one of these before (and must admit it's pretty funky looking...the later Fairladys were much better looking). It has serial number 4 and might have been the first one imported to the US. I have added a couple of photos because once something expires on Ebay, the link is dead after a couple of weeks and then anyone who opens this after that time won't see anything. BTW, this car was the subject of a Hemmings Motor News article that is inside the link (plus some great additional info). It's being sol…

My dad and I got all out cars together for a shoot this evening. We lined them up by year. The BMW and Volvo are mine of course and then my dad has the 90, 73, 72, 72, 71 & 70.

Hello all. I like many of you am a Z car addict. I have 2 1973 240Z's. One very clean, one not so clean rusted. They both drive fine, I drive them both regularly, probably 10 to 15k miles a year. The one rusty Z, I have all the metal for, and I have the original block that matches the number plate. It is solid driving and much "safer" feeling than my clean Z. My question is does this make them more valuable or desireable with numbers matching? This car will take a lot of work to get it to look new but i have all the metal, and capability just need some direction. My second Z, the clean one. Has been in an accident in some point in its life. It was hit in the rig…

Well, I got the Z back on the road Wednesday night, with just enough time to do a little debugging before I drove my son to school the following morning on his last day of 1st grade, something he really enjoyed (both kids love the Z a lot more than I thought they would, incidentally). Took some time to shoot and edit together a short video last night: Complete with my stream-of-consciousness narration. Comments and corrections welcome.

I'm looking for the plastic seat recliner covers for a 1977/78 280Z, NOT the earlier flimsy covers from 1972-76 cars. No cracks or damage. Need the driver side but will take both. Please respond to jrt3833@hotmail.com . Thanks.

I'm throwing my hands up in defeat: Is there a place online that hosts an old copy of one of the BRE/Interpart Catalogs? I've seen multiple references on this site to specific part numbers (Struts, jacks, airdams, etc.) but I'd really like to dig through a Catalog to see what all was available back in the day. Looking to pick up a '72 parts car this weekend which has some BRE Stickers under the hood. At first glance I didn't see anything special (stock 3-Screw, no headers, etc.), and perhaps it's the equivalent of someone tacking a "DINAN" badge on a BMW without swapping parts. But in case something is there, I'd like to know what all to be looking for. I'll keep ch…

I was on the freeway yesterday and saw a hardtop Solstice. Either I'd only seen the ragtops or just hadn't noticed it before, but it really had the modern look of an early Z. Anyone know much about them?
