I have a set of old mesh style volkracing wheels. they are 3 peice wheels that bolt together. I want to take them apart to clean them but want to make sure that they will still be able to be balanced when i re-assemble them. What i panned on doing was just taking out the mesh center and leaving the two wheel hoop halfs together and mark the mesh part so when i removed it i would put it back in the same location that it was when i took it out. http://s1002.photobucket.com/albums/af141/searsscreamer/?action=view¤t=IMAG1181.jpg

I've found a 1976 280z in the area that is in very good shape. It appears to be free of rust and in excellent mechanical condition. Seller wants $7,900. I'd like some confirmation from the resident experts that the car is worth that much. I did an NADA search that seemed to agree with the price (assuming the car is truely in excellent condition). Thanks in advance for any assistance.

At last years convnetion, under the park between the Westin and the Convention Center I had a conversation with an officer of the ZCCA who has a very seriously Modified Z. In the course of that conversation and several subsequent emails, we talked about Carshows (not just the ZCCA variety) in general and what Judging actually looks for-and what he felt it should, I have been weighing a good number of those conversations/emails and other similar ones I had with several people within our comunity from Zrush-while he was DJing at Zfest 2006, to a couple local club members at a Car Show weekend before last, to a recent thread here.. My opinion is that there are a lot peop…

I was perusing ebay today and saw this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/320815397571?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648 He says: "this is my second steering wheel that has been restored out of a series 1 240z. this wheel has a slightly more cherry finish and less grain ( unlike the other one i have listed which has more of a grain on the backside ) as this one was in better condition when i recieved it. this wheel i have restored personally and has no clear coat or staining....this wheel has been restored to its original state! i do not know anyone to restore these wheels to these standards!! this wheel has been restored to its original state and…

Does anyone know whether there were differences in fuel tanks during the manufacture run of the 240z? Specifically, are the 72 and 73 tanks the same?

I guess I just got lucky a couple of weeks agao when I e-mailed Les at Classic Datsun parts and he called me the same day. I inquired about some ZG flares via e-mail and he called me the same day-WOW, I'm impressed. He said he was getting ready to go out of town for a few days and he would get my ZG flares out before he left. So I paid him and sure enough the flares were there a week later. The problem is that I'm not quite happy with one of the flares and I want to talk to les about this issue. Well I sent him an e-mail and I got nothing back. I called everyday and his voice mailbox is full----------always. This has been at least a week or more. Is this a way to run a …

As I posted here at the end of July, my 71 240 was totalled in an accident. The left front was pretty badly damaged, and the frame rail was bent. Insurance declared a total loss, and the car was picked up from my home by CrankyApe auctions, out of Kissimmeee, Fl. The ins. co. was willing to let me buy the car back for 4K. I can't do what I did 21 yrs. ago, so I took the full value settlement. CrankyApe is putting the car up for auction, and I would really like to see it go to a good home; i.e. some one who has the time and energy to get all the excellent parts off this car. It has a mint condition series-1 hatch, the interior has a mint condition dashboard and all gauges …

Interesting to compare this review - with the Personality of your 240Z. I don't believe I've ever heard anyone say that they were bored with their 240Z. In effect I think the owner of this BRZ is really just talking about the "fun" of Driving. Something we all feel that the 240Z offers just as much today as it did when it was new. FWIW, Carl B.

Hey all, hope this link works! Here's a nice zed for sale in Kelowna BC. I've admired this car for a while now, I see it occasionally when I return home to Kelowna. Too bad I don't have the cash at the moment! http://vancouver.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-1973-Datsun-240-Z-W0QQAdIdZ402749411
