Hi all, I have to replace the old control arm bushing but I don't have that special Nissan tool that is mentioned in the manuals. I also don't want to take off the suspension but only pull down the control arm a few inches to get to the bushing. The job looks to me a bit like the "spindle pin puller problem". Has any one experiances and advice how to do it in a comfortable way? Thanks for help Rolf

I'm willing to buy adjustables for my Z32, they are widely available, since I'm doing this, I told myself, it is a shame to buy them for the 300 since the queen is in the garage getting parts mounted back in tehre place and not buying her adjustable Compression rods! I saw once on a forum, I dont remember which one a guy who custumizes rods himself and sels them, I wonder if some companies like MSA or any other can provide them with some warranty.. I personally thaught of taking out the rods and cut away4 inches or a bit more then thread the 2 sides in opposite directions with fine threads a attach them with a long nut (threaded pime or what ever it is caleld with 2 locki…

I need to find a new RH front strut assembly for my '71 and I have found 2. One is marked KYB and has a part# 54302 A2650 The other is marked 54302 UO550 Underneath both is Z1 and Japan. Is anyone able to cross reference these part numbers? My CD does not list either part and I "think" the struts may be from a roadster. Thanks for the help in advance! Paul

I am really unsure about my installation of the Eibach Springs and Tokico HP's. I replaced the shock on the driver side front. Got everything bolted up and then I realize that the spring will not seat. The entire strut assembly is loose. I realize that the Eibach spring is much shorter than the stock spring, so what do I do? Is this supposed to be this way untill you drop the car on the ground? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Rick

Hello everyone! Well i'm finally down to the question part of my quest to get my Z on the road! To refresh.... 1978 280Z 126,000 miles, anyway when i got the car it had not been on the road for 9 years, i bought it from the orginal owner who had a new clutch installed right before he quit driving it. When i got it i installed a new clutch master and slave cylinders as well as flushed the system and installed a new hose, bled the system, adjusted the pedal as called out in the book, everything seemed to be working fine until i went to shift it (difficult to get in gear) when the engine was off but would not go into gear while running, i raised the rear and i believe the …

Guys, Need a little help here. I'm just about to purchase a 75 280z, it doesn't have power steering and I'm wondering if any of you have installed a power steering unit on a early Z series. I had a 73 240z back in the 70's but for the life of me I can't remember if it even had power steering. I hate to sound stupid, but did the early Z's up to 79 even offer power steering as an option? Thanks.

Hi. Just got me two original Nissan tie rod ends for my 260Z on Ebay. They have small bolts on the ends where the grease nippels go. My question is, do these tie rod ends com pre-greased from Nissan? Thanks :nervous:

Just wanted to know if any of us have had luck finding 1st generation rebuild kits for brake/clutch master cylinders. I'm trying to avoid mail ordering parts as I would like to install the parts this weekend. BMC is Tokico 7/8 CMC is Nabco 5/8 My Z was made in 2/71 and has the earlier style Master cylinder and Clutch master. Years ago I was able to get rebuild kits for these parts but the shop I bought them from closed. NAPA online carries them but I suspect it's second gen parts. If I recall the second gen rebuild kits don't jive with the earlier parts but I could be wrong. I'm refurbishing the old parts because it seems that reman/exchange parts I've seen are second gen…

Hello Is anyone able to tell me if/how I am able to identify an original 240-Z type steering rack with it still installed in the car? Are there any external markings or physical differences between the 240-Z rack and the 260-Z (280-Z) style rack? The rack on my car was exchanged by the previous owner for a rebuilt unit and I would like to know if a 240-Z style was installed or a 260-Z style as I may have an opportunity to purchase an original 240-Z style. Thanks for any replies. Joseph

I ordered ST springs set for my '77 280Z and they safely arrived.. but the thing is that I noticed in the pictures that the ST springs come in grey color.. I received mine green?? is that right? I attach a picture of the box and pir of front spring (with sticker) and a rear one.. *other point.. while mounting the springs, do I need a rubber seat (spacer) under the spring? or with lowering spring it is not needed?
