@Yarb I just cound't tell if was sand or rubber like.....maybe more sand. This came from under the top spring perch not above like the spacer and insulator. I was thinking more along the lines of a bump stop? Was there Bump stops? Thanks for the input.

Might be the "spacer". Part #13. I actually bought a pair for my car from Courtesy Nissan long ago. Not sure if you can find them now. It's just a hard rubber ring. Datsun Z Rear Suspension (Strut,...Datsun Z Rear Suspension (Strut, Shock Absorber & Transve...

Need more of a descriptive finding. Does it crumble in your hand like sand or is it old dry rubber?

Nice Brochure
While at a car show this past weekend, had a very interesting conversation with a gentleman. His parents opened a Datsun dealership in Moose Jaw, Sask. The year was 1966, he said that the family home was on the same property and he grew up working in the shop. He remembers the day the Datsun Training trailers pulled into the yard and all of the mechanics spent a week going through the courses. He gave me three of these plastic bags, he says he has lots more Datsun stuff . I am working on getting a chance to go shopping through his collection.

Installing new shocks in my "72" (KYB) and am wondering what this is that came out of the top spring perch? See picture. Was this just caked in dirt or remants of something else? Thanks!

Hi Charles, I started a thread a while back on hybridz in their EMS/Megasquirt forum: https://forums.hybridz.org/topic/136053-76-280z-microsquirt-project/#comments It has been a journey, so far no regrets dumping the AFM/Bosch ECU etc.

I really know nothing about these folks but they're local in the Salt Lake City area. JDM Legends – JDM Legends Store Here's a video they did a while back on a 1972 240Z restoration. JDM Legends - Season 1 Episode 1 - We Are JDM Legends - video Dailymotion

My VIN is HLS3016530. I will double check my memory. It has been a long time since I put eyes on that switch.

Interesting, my 12/70 car has the yellow switch. My S/N is HLS30-17486, I'm guessing your 12/70 car has an earlier S/N than mine.

Defroster switch... When did they change from the black unlit design to the yellow backlit version? Here's a hoovered pic of the unlit black: And here's the yellow backlit version: The wiring diagram I've been working on shows the simpler black unlit version. When did they change to the yellow backlighted version?

Early/late thermostat housings
After receiving a box of parts back from the vapor honer, I noticed that the two lower thermostat housings I had are different. One came from a 72, the other I am not sure. I believe the one on the left is part number 11061-P0300, which the microfiche indicates was used on 1973's. So I suspect the one on the right, having lighter-duty top and head flanges, is 11061-E3000 and is for 70-72. Can anyone confirm? What's on your original early 240Z's?

Restoration Shop
I am thinking there are not many restoration shops that focus on Z's these days. Impatient Creations is doing good quality work. I think they are very expensive. But, they do good work. Looks like they are 30 minutes from Birmingham. https://impatientcreationsinc.com/
