  1. I am trying to remove front bumper and valance on my 1978 280z to make way for a new air dam. I am stuck removing the valance. I got all of the obvious bolts out, but there are 2 issues: The side fender and valance appear to be "fused" together? The last few bolts have some kind of gunk/material that is nearly hard as rock stuck on them and I can't get to the bolts. I thought the valance was 3 pieces. It looks like where the middle and side piece attach, there is a ton of gunk around the bolt that holds them together. WTF is this stuff? 2nd pic is zoomed in on area of first pic: Secondly, why do the fender and valance appear to be fused together at the seam? I didn't really want to take a screwdriver and hack at it... also, behind the valance in the 2nd pic below is another bolt that has a ton of gunk. No way I can get a socket or wrench around it. Any tips for getting these last few pieces out?
  2. Looking for parts for my 1971 240z. I need hood hinge on passenger side, front valence, front parking lights, carbs, door panels Door handles, seats, tail lights bumpers front and back. Can you help?
  3. Hey guys. I haven't posted much here but I would like to start posting some of my progress. Here is what I did for the weekend: I changed out my headlight buckets. My car came with headlight buckets that were made of hard plastic and were cracked in several places. So I swapped them out with metal buckets that I bought off of ebay. My old front bumper was a poly xenon type 1 bumper, I liked it but I wanted something different. I bought a set of used metal lower valence along with a carbon fiber BRE style air damn. All in all, I like the updated look. The carbon fiber air dam goes good with my BRE style carbon fiber rear wing. well, here are the before and after pics: Before: After:
  4. Hi, so I have had my 280Z now for about 2 weeks and I've been looking into changing the bumpers and some other minor things. I already ordered some MSA headlight covers and some new springs/struts. I was wondering what kind of bumper/air dam options I have for a '77 280z? I've been searching since the day I bought it and all I can seem to find is 240/260 parts =( Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jake. Beginning. (My Z the day I bought it) I'm looking for bumpers like these, and a kit like in this picture or the one below it.

Hey everyone, The body shop just reinstalled the bumpers on my '78 280z but when I was looking through one of the parts buckets I saw these four parts. Although the bumpers seem to be solidly mounted, I thought some or all of these are part of the bumper mounting system. Either way, can anyone tell me what they are and where they're supposed to go? Thanks! P.S. I thought I'd throw in a couple of photos of the work in progress ...
