  2. Is the rear spoiler stock ? NO The front air dam is which one from msa ?? YES SIR Are those stock rims !!!!! I think they were once installed by the dealer, are these called the Wolfe racing??? I've seen some ZED with them on many books... Some polish job !!!! Oh yeah, big time, and even my GF did participate, that was great and she coul'nt believe the attention we were getting on the parade with the car.. She was shy!
  3. Go to this thread in another car site in Montreal. And the car is orange 918 from datsun even if it appears red!!!! http://www.montrealracing.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12003&highlight=my+zed
  4. Well, I went to my second show this year, and among the 700 hundreds cars that were there, I WAS THE ONLY JAPANESE CAR AMONG THE LOT!!!!! Can you believe that??? I was competing in my class against nice MB 180SL, 250SL cabriolet, Alafa Romeo, Porsche 356 and so on, and I did took the 3rd price!!! That was nice, cos on saturday, we had to do a parade in the village of Stowe (Vermont), and people were waving and saying: LOOK, A DATSUN, WOW!!!!! Me and my girlfriend did had a really good time, and the car was a great tourer iwth my new engine in it. It a blast to drive and a confortable tourer as well on long trip!!!! Long live the ZED!:classic: :classic:
  5. Stock, port and polish head, turbo oil pump, cam of a 260Z, 2,5 inches exhaust custom made, tokico, eibach, and all internal parts of the engine rebuilt, bref, un nouveau moteur!!! in break-in period.:sleepy:
  6. Here is another one... http://www.the510realm.com/main.shtml
  7. WELL, what a week.. My engine is being rebuilt this week. It did look as it would be an easy job... Listen: 1. The cam was broken at one end..so we had to fit a new one (260Z) 2. There was a piece of the valve guide that did get loose at one point and was floating on the top of piston #3... but just a small dent 3. The car was running with the head gasket of a 280ZX (NOW I KNOW WHY IT WAS OVERHEATING) 4. My 240Z 72 has flat piston.. not the curved ones on the top.. 5. There was a broken bracket on the radiator (new one and clean-up) 6. My oil pump was almost dead (so I didi put a bigger one from a 28-ZX Turbo) 7. Timing chain had to be changed (the whole kit from Nissan) 8. Oil rings worned (brand new ones) 9. Clutch master cylinder as well as the sleeve were dead... 10. I had a bad vaccum leak (new vaccum installed) 11. New connecting rod bearing installed As for the rest: My head was ok, and it's now port and polished. I did put an electronic ignition (no more points top take care of) as weel as 2 round K'N filters. Can't wait to see the bill on the car....and I'm going on holiday this week-end...... :sleepy: :stupid:
  8. Well, to make a short story, my engine was in rough shape... Just want ti know if there is any advantage/disadvantage on putting a cam from a 260Z?????
  9. hÉ HÉ!!! THis is why I put it in my signature.. HP sells, Torque moves!!!:stupid:
  10. There u go: HORSEPOWER Definition: A unit of measure for quantifying power output. Invented by James Watt, the term was originally used to describe how much effort a horse exerted when lugging coal out of a coal mine. One horsepower was the amount of effort one horse put forth in raising 33,000 lbs. one foot in one minute. Engine horsepower ratings are determined on special equipment (See Dynamometer), and are usually expressed as so much "brake" horsepower (the amount of horsepower the engine actually delivers after internal friction and parasitic loses are taken into account). TORQUE Turning or twisting force such as the force imparted on the drive line by the engine. Usually measured in lb-ft. It differs from work or power in that torque does not necessarily produce motion. Basically, the magnitude of a torque acting on a body is the product of the magnitude of a force and its force arm (perpendicular distance from the axis of rotation of the body to the line of action of the force). This product is called the moment of the torque about the axis or the torque. Usually, torque goes with this also: Pound-Feet The unit of measurement for torque (for example, 132 lb-ft @ 4800 rpm), which is a gauge of an engine's power. One pound-foot is equal to the twisting force produced when a one-pound force is applied to the end of a one-foot-long lever. HOPE IT HELPS YOU !!!
  11. A new battery Change of all fluids Master cylinder for the clutch as well as the sleeve New cap rotor as weel as rotor A new set of points A new thermostat And I'l have the engine rebuilt this week. New set of Falken tires So I'll say roughly 2500$Cnd (roughly 1800$US) It's gonna be an expensive year, but the car is running well indeed!!!!

  13. AMAZZZZZZZZZZING!!!!!
  14. No guys!! THO Tidy Hard On :stupid:
  15. Well, the pic was taken by one of my friend! I like this shot. As for the airdam, well, the road sucks so much in Quebec, that, YES, I do take care when I drive, as well as if other people in their cars were a threat for me!!!! It was already on the car when I bought it, but it's from MSA, and was installed in a body shop I guess. It was easy to fix (for my carpet incident), and since my car is really low, I do have to pay attention also to the front and underneath, since my exhaust rubs sometimes... Just to have get used to it for the look it gives, it's ok for me! Good luck with yours!:classic:
  16. Mine is in fiberglass, and I did to repainted it this summer since I run over a freaking carpet (long story) left in the middle of a bridge.. But it's pretty stable.
  17. Nope, cos the reason is I don't see a lot of them in Mtl, but I do pass notice in fact..But I do wave at guys with old cars and muscle cars, and they do usually the same! Even when riding with my GF, there is a lot of lady that do take a look at me...hum, I mean the ZED of course.. It gives me a little inner smile!!!!!:sleepy: :classic:

  20. Welcome in the big ZED family. You might want to try this site, lots of good info for swaps!!!! http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php :devious:
  21. Does someone know this site??? There is a lot of information on engine swaps!!! http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php
  22. So how come mine needs to be fixed out??? 96 000miles, but I do know the ZED I bought was used for some lapping and autocross... Oil rings (espeacially #3), and vavle seals.. Normal wear, well, I guess so on a 30 years old car.
  23. Well, form what i red, they were quite impressed with the pas de danse of the car... Loks like it knows how to dance and quite well indeed! In kiosk right now !
  24. Well, I cannot find a good used engine in Montreal for that....:sleepy:
  25. Is it crazy to do that? How complicated? Any opinions? Since I have to rebuilt my engine, just wondering, yes, I will denaturate the soul of my ZED, but it's a good kick in the butt!!!:devious:
