  1. In case you have the hose in its place, you will see a hose a hose from the left side of the engine under the intake, coming from a pipe STABED into the block:) and going up to the bottom of the intake, you can not see it by eyes, you'll need a mirror or by touching you can find it.. btw, if the hose is not there and openings not plugged, that will cause you a big vacume leak and getting much dirt in your engine oil. go open the bonnet and put your hand under the intake.. make sure that it is cold so you wont harm your hand from the heat of the exhaust.
  2. I don't see what is so special in this car bro!? man be good to your self, get a nother Z:)
  3. Austen, this was an attachment of a reply to my thread posted by Stephen Blakeney (Sblake01) http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=8970&d=1123955666 the illustration is scanned from the owners manual of a 1975-78 280Z. I hope it will make things more clear .
  4. Stephen, the Maxima I mentioned was the 1994-1999 sold in our region which had the VQ30 engine if I'm not mistakin' the spark plugs shoud fit into the head of the L28 and tightened with a smaller wrench.. I don't recommend to use those plugs here but I was told that they have better spark than the ones of the original L28. and I'm having an ACCEL super coil so maybe using those plugs might be better.. that guy told me that from his practical experience, no theories nor calculations.. I must try to make sure.. if it will make a difference, I'll certainly inform you about the part number and the effect.
  5. glad to hear that..
  6. a friend once told me that Maxima's spark plugs do better on L28, I'll try them, nothing theoretical, it is just from his experience.. besides, they cost the same.. I'll try and I'll give a feedback if it is true!
  7. seems to me that it is something like a relay also.. I'm not an electrecal expert but either relay or bad contacts.. the ignition switch wiring is ok under the steering wheel? I guess he didt screw anything up over there right? sorry for not being able to help:(
  8. I agree, lubricate them.
  9. maybe you pulled a wire by mistake (if it is not low voltage as genomz said). check the area down there.
  10. thermotme switch might cause those stuff, but if I were you, I would inspect more things (just to make sure that there are not more accumolated problems) since you are allready under the bonet.. such as vacume leaks, and you can use a Voltmeter to make sure that the Auxiliari air Regulator gets power.. and if it is running rich, you might have a passing cold start injector or (valve) check it's signal also, it should open during cold start for a moment, and then shut off. good luck.
  11. I think it is from a Nissan/Datsun 200L from 80's I'm not sure 100%
  12. about the headlight covers, when I baught the car, I got them with the car BUT they were painted in the same color as for the car, something like kids stuff.. I didn't put them on at all! I gave them back to the old owner.. I vaught new ones from VB, but the strange thing is that the don't fit the original clips! I need to drill new holes and that makes me fee bad.. is it enough to stick them with the adhesive they have originally? I dont want to rush with them and spoil it.. I'll investigate about the fron air dam and let you know later, as far as I know it is the original from a 280Z.. and thanks for the compliment about it...
  13. Bart.. thank you, I had a great time sleeping mostly;) and about protection.. man I'm protecting her so no need for "much" bumper protection:)

  15. at lastI managed to have some photos, and dor Enrique the front valance.. enjoy them...
  16. nice babe you are having man, but is it a gas leak in the last picture showing the gas tank? you better fix it coz we don't need a burnt Z don't we:) BTW, how is the performance of the carburated L28? is air/fuel delivery sufficient for the bigger volume of the cylinders than L24?? and if there is any need to changer pistons or anything like that inside the engine?

No no no:finger: never say "damn car" about her, she will be more upset and you'll have more trouble! Z's have passions:love:

  20. Mark, can you attach the pic here? I'm interested also.. coz I recently baught ST springs after I lost hope finding Eibach's for my 280Z:( and how much do they cost at MSA?
  21. it's allright Will:) I was joking:) besides I dont like the 300 that much like my sexy 280Z Zbane... :nervous: hi man, how are you:)
  22. 1st of all, welcome between us Patti (even though that you have a ZX) KIDDING!! I hope that Zbane will not read my post also:knockedou I had a ZX, in fact 280ZX and now I have the 280Z and a 300ZX (any comments on the 300ZX Will (hls30.com)?:cheeky: the 280ZX is a very good car.. I don't want to be nosy in this case, but since we have a S30 Z Series - 240z, 260z, 280z subforums, why don't we have a 280ZX subforums? we are members of a very good forum, why can't we be just the best? since the zcar.com forum have all Z cars from 240 to 350! we can be the best forum of the Z's with the L series engines which are considered classic (don't they)??

hey Chrais, lust is a thing that goes and come, u just watch "hot" magazines and u'll get it back somehow;) but I see that you still have some faith in your Z from the work you spent on it.. at least be good to you self man, don't throw your effort away just like that, install one small part per day or per week, adn you'll see that you'll end up having your Z on the road sooner that you expect! beleave in it man.. I want to see a clip of your Z with a violent push from the LS1 soon:) cheerz!
  24. I'm having ST + KYB in my 280Z, I'm satisfied, but I had many issues with installing the springs! I put the 9 coil spring in front a 8 in rear and the car sat really wierd, I siwtched them and they are ok now, but I have got afeedback that the 9 coil spring should be in front, but according to what I have right now, I'm happy he combo I have, the ride is soft, dont expect a rough ride from them, I heared that ST are stiff, but they are OK..
  25. I would say few times a mounth, coz I work on shifts so I don't have a good chance always to take a round in a good time, besides the weather is terrible in my country, so UI don't wait for a sunny day ctually, but I wait for a colder day:) but not rainy! so I end up wit about 5-8 times a mounth or even less!
