  1. good idea, I will look into it
  2. thanks 2ManyZs, do you think it would take 200 - 350RWHP (p.s. before you say get an R200, R200's are very very very scarce over here, where as there are endless 4WD turbo Subaru's)
  3. defiantly possible, don't know where to suggest to go to though?
  4. I have read these bolt on Z's, anyone know if they are worth while?
  5. Sod that!
  6. don't like 4 bangers my self but what ever floats your boat, check out HybridZ, they probably have numerous threads on this particular swap: http://www.hybridz.org/

lets not forget the 500flbs of torque that engine produces
  8. Replace the engine? don't know, I think it more likely they export their old cars to other countries and buy new ones, some how I don't see your average Japanese car owner organizing an engine change.
  9. It used to be all sorts of cars like BMW, Nissan, Toyota, Volvo, even a Camaro raced a while ago etc then they made the criteria for racing so explicit that only the Holdens and Fords (Australian manufactured) qualified, there have been rumors of Toyota entering but haven't heard anything recently check out; http://www.v8supercar.com.au/
  10. 1) finish body work 2) paint car 3) redo break, fuel and clutch lines 4) get performance shop to: (sort of cheating really) - wire up engine to dash - exhaust - radiator + fans - IC piping - driveshaft - fuel pump + regulator - surge tank - anything else I can't think of at the moment 5) wire up sound system and security devices 6) wire up lights etc 7) get interior reupholstered 8) fit windows, emblems, trim, etc 9) get tires for new mags 10) lower + harder suspension + camber change 11) get it certified and insured 12) break upgrade 13) LSD diff upgrade I think that is everything?
  11. great as in easy to set up?
  12. no idea? have you contacted the NZ Z Club: http://zclub.org.nz/
  13. 225hp for the latter model 300 NA
  14. how much are you looking to spend?
  15. are you sure they weigh less? it's a pretty big engine, you won't have much room left in the engine bay, also how much is the engine going to cost you?
  16. what diameter was your fan?

I second that but maybe towards the luxury arm as well, like Lexus.

hey I answered honestly and got 6%, when you live in a homophobic country of beer drinking rugby players this sort of thing gets drilled into you

  20. unless you fit an intercooler then the T3 should go uo to 15psi

There might be something on the international section here: http://www.hella.co.nz/
  22. I didn't mean cheap but bottom end, ECU, exhaust and intercooler + plumbing won't take much out of the $8000USD budget
  23. the world is a big place and if someone can build a buisness out of making... those, then there will be some tastless person who will buy it
  24. it's a few gold trinklets off a pimp car
  25. there is no way you can handle 800hp in a 240Z for the road or even on the track. to put that in prospective a Ferrari F50 has a 5.4kg per KW ratio, with 800hp you would have 1.76kg per kw. I would aim for the 400hp max range even that is way too scary. you seem to be after easy hp no matter how it comes, doing up a N/A car to this level will be undriveable on the road (i.e. no hp below 4000, reving up to 8400) - great for the track though, I would suggest an L28 turbo, it is almost a direct bolt in engine conversion, take the bottom end to be rebuilt and balanced by someone who knows what they are doing (it won't cost that much) you could have you head done as well if you like (small hp gains). buy a bigger turbo like a Garret T04 or even a T03 (or have the existing turbo rebuilt), buy an intercooler - needed if you are going to wind the boost above 7psi (which if you will need to do to get it in the 300's / 400's) take it to an exhaust shop or something and have them do the pluming for the intercooler and the exhaust at the same time (won't cost that much). The T03 will take up to 15psi, the T04 will take more but the L28 block might not - I would suggest taking it to a performance shop to tweak the boost as you can easily screw things up, you could even get a adjustable boost gauge if you like, saves petrol when you don't need all that hp. then have the ECU upgraded (once again it doesn't cost that much) then boom shanka your in the 300 - 400hp range more than enough hp to pull 11 - 12 sec 1/4 miles which is kick arse!
