I was trying to see how it would look in a Z. I think im going to get the cut pile, looks a little more "new".

anyone have good pictures of the difference between loop pile and cut pile??

The evap system looks to be in good shape. The fuel filler neck was cracked and thats why im in the process of replacing it. I can't drop the fuel tank because some previous owner decided to to put a a hitch and then weld a piece of metal from the hitch to where the differential is at blocking the gas tank. I don't have the tools to cut it away. Not to mention im scared of causing a spark down there. The car was rust proofed some time in its life so it has very little rust. My plan is to use a metal wire that is semi hard so that i can actually push it around without it getting stuck.

Well while i was trying to install a new filler tube a screw fell into my gas tank. I was wondering if there was a possibility of it getting lodged somewhere where it would cause the fuel to stop. I really don't have the time or tools at my disposal to remove the screw from inside of it. I'm gonna try a magnet to see if i can fish it out.

well it looks like the strut was just really hard to press down. I ended up putting all my body weight into it and it compressed to appropriate size for installation. Thanks for the help guys.

yah I got one for the left side, I'm gonna mess with it today to see if i can get it to compress if not I'm going to return it to the seller.

Well i purchased a used hatch strut support about a month ago and i finally got the time today to install it on my Z only to find out that it seems to seized. It won't collapse. I tried putting some WD 40 and hitting it with a rubber mallet but it still won't go down. Is there something special that i have to do to make it collapse?

I was wondering if the Black dragon door weatherstrip comes with the "welting already attached" or if they sell that seperatly? I am going to buy a replacement and i was looking at the motorsport auto version and the website said that i would have to purchase the welting.

they don't accept flat tops as cores, sorry.

I got some new SU's from them. The cool part was that a friend of mine gave me and extra core and so i was able to save 75 dollars off the price. I think they will accept up to 3 cores. If you are going to get new ones from them i would recommend trying to locate some cheap cores. The video comes for free if you buy replacements but you have to pay extra if you want it in dvd format. The carbs are great by the way.

i have a 72. Its just that i let my friend borrow my manual and he lost it. I really don't want to go buy a new one if I can find a how to on line.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a how to on installing new shoes and a "drum rebuild kit". I have very little experience with working on brakes.

i believe modern motorsports sells one for 30 bucks.

that car has been for sale for over 6 months on craigslist. you might be able to knock the guy down a lot of the price.

i think you can piece one together cheaper. msa sells the brake lines for roughly 50 bucks. the brake pads using rear 240sx calipers is another 50. you can get powerslot rotors for 50 bux each on summit racing. the rear brake brackets are 165 from modern motorsports. the only thing you would have to figure out is how to affix the e-brake and sourcing some used rear calipers from a 240sx.

yah, the problem was that the old fuel pump went bad and was replaced with a electric one so i didn't know where the fuel filter went. Thanks .

I don't know if this is the right forum to ask this question. I'm trying to find out where the fuel filter is located on a 72 240z. I tried searching for it with no luck.

lots of good information. I forgot to say I live in San Antonio, Tx. So i will probably will be going with the higher viscosity.

Well im finally getting my 240z up and running and I am planning to do an oil change. I want to stick with a synthetic oil. I use Royal Purple on my 240sx but I have also heard of people using Mobil 1 synthetic on the 240z. I was wondering if there where any other good synthetic oils out there and what viscosity it should be. I was also wondering about how many quarts and which type of oil filter (possibly fram). Thanks.
