IIRC it's caused by to rich of a mixture. there is unburnt gas in the cylinder and it ignites with the heat of the CC. or is it that it's too lean and the hot piston ignites the fuel? i don't remember. but you can probably consider it a fuel mixture problem. if you're running SUs, test and see if you're running a proper ratio. now that i think about it, i think that when i advanced my timing it went away.

IMHO i would avoid it. since it's a ZX, i personally wouldn't be inclined to invest the time/money into it that it would require. the floorboards alone are gonna cost around 250 if you can find them. my $0.02

what about the issue of the sharing of the carbies? i know that webers/mikunis don't have that problem because there is one barrel per cylinder, but IIRC there was some controversy over the firing order and the separation of the SUs.... not trying to start an argument, it's just that i have always bypassed triple SUs because of that "issue"
