  1. The FS5C71B isn't just a Euro 'box, the rest of the world got it in some form in a S30, even in different models other than the S30. This -N3130 'box is a non-Euro 'box looking at the parts microfiche, probably why it ended up in the USA. We aren't short of FS5C71B 'box here in the UK (I have 2 myself spare), its finding a good one or the parts is the harder bit.
  2. Yeah, 32010-N3130 is a FS5C71B 'box, not your usual North American fitted standard Warner 'boxes. This was an excluding Europe 'box, but in reality not much difference with the -N3131 Europe got. I presume whether it's used in whatever motorsport affiliation/rules within North America scene the S30 competes and whether the 'box in in good working order, steel synchros for example, gives it a value...? In my view, with a 3.7 diff, the best ratio 'box for a L series engine, stockish.
  3. Great Nils, Window regulators, there are new wheel/runners available here, I have used the pins for replacing the ones on the CSP and made new wheels https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226414761961?_skw=datsun+240z+window&itmmeta=01M31Z5HQNVHPGAANC7MVBQZW3&hash=item34b75f17e9:g:pkAAAOSwiiZlpiZa&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA8GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xDPKKok6GWkGBtamb6b7NFt1XiUI1vwgandTEr90mu3T3O6KDVSeomrQKLiY%2F1D7PabNTEtCpejibFWA5t01E6SzwUHa4goSFqhu%2Bp7AujtLpPP50Tr0588ESTh2plv1ShPcPTSg873bCO7pt%2BbsAV9kcABynzppPp1qwIegNMc4qalaAnsOi2rYst%2F3LKnh6RAVdoQ93uSOcdlGjv6F1YkN5jaYIxLsOCk4Pu3geseNip3LIpcCOtOvgUniJSdgik%2B9pzSUJrwvCEcykGdljz0FbmHMB5G2OWCbWHCp86t8Q%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMipyWv5ho If you haven't seen these, it maybe an idea to replace the throttle shaft bushes on the Nismo manifold with bearings, like here (though I found some generic ones) https://www.jauce.com/auction/b1239743489 Cheers Ian
  4. And if you could find a European market N36, its even cleaner looking...
  5. What I am doing is once the evoprust is rinsed off the parts goes into a solvent which the water is soluable in, so removes most of/all the water and the solvent dries/volatolizes off much quicker than the water.
  6. Hi Nils, Photo shows spring on shaft, the hooked end goes in the original position on the aluminium pump rod actuating arm thingy, and the straight edge goes against the side of the carb housing. And the is just a photo of my resto work on these Mikuni carbs.
  7. As usual nice stuff Nils! I would consider using these throttle spindle springs that go between each carb choke on the throttle. I use them when I rebuild Mikuni PHH's. https://www.jauce.com/auction/k1231660176 They give a bit more resistance when the throttle shaft moves and thus feel better whilst driving. Cheers Ian
  8. Just for reference, currently on Yahoo Japan auctions is a Nismo/sports option oil catch tank. Whether its exactly the same as HS30-H mnetioned earlier in this thread, I am sure Alan can confirm. https://www.jauce.com/auction/k1231067797 Here is a few photos for reference when the link goes.
  9. The machined back part, behind the hex, is a tolerance push fit into the block. Yes its quite large, but its alot less protruding the standard pipe. If wanted, the hex could be machined down as well to become just oversize of the block hole, for a slimmer looking fit.
  10. I don't see the need to add an AN fitting to a welch plug, as the machined AN fitting can fit. I found the fitting, it was machined too much and hence given to me. Its steel, but my friend has an aluminium AN fitting. The black AN is a speedflow one, which I think is Australian brand, and I am unsure where the steel one came from. The threads one side are just machined off the large fitting. Obviously its a reducer fitting to aid your search.
  11. I have seen that sports option catch can on Yahoo Japan auctions now and again. I run triples and mine is vented to a catch tank. I have seen a k&n round filter put on the end of the standard metal pipe out of the block, but it had been pushed so far in, it didn't vent, may nor maybe not why the engine leaked oil everywhere... Sometimes you see usually the rocker vent going to a hole made in one of the k&n filters attached to a carb, and thus draws air that way. My friend has machined a large AN fitting to be a tolerance fit in the side of the block, and then you can add whatever AN fitting to the other end and go where you want. An option in the v8 world is running the pcv out the block to a pipe on the exhaust manifold so the crank gases are pulled out by the flowing exhaust gases...
  12. My understanding, from looking at the CSP311 design, that the modelling clay was initially supplied in the early 1960's by Chavant, made with bees wax and is easily worked at 40 degrees c. And its red in colour, you can see red on worn bits of the clay model, the same material....?
  13. Hi Nils, I often see those wheels on Yahoo auctions Japan, nice, just a pity they are 13 inch diameter. The gold colour (right) is fab, here is my "still in their boxes" Maglloy from Kobe Seiko with the same colour.
  14. It may well be, but this is a homemade example. The correct tool follows the same rough design, the "cut-out" on the board show the shape and has provision to fit a 3/8 or 1/2 socket drive. The was one on Yahoo auctions a week or two ago...
  15. I'm chucking ideas here, Nissan did make a cap to blank off heater size pipes (1/2" ex dia), 14058-14600 was originally for the Datsun SP311, but it's a correct Nissan part for such a job. Whether you can find one in the US is another matter, I got mine direct from Japan.
