  1. Here's a junkyard 4 miles north of Denton, TX that has some complete Z-cars for sale including a 260Z G-nose: http://www.ctcautoranch.com/Cars/Car%20Sub-Pages/Cars%20Datsun.html
  2. Good, I was hoping that someone would try to save the shell. I would hate to see a Series I go to the crusher. From the pictures, it looks to have mostly surface rust, hopefully the rust underneath isn't too bad. Good luck to you Paul, and if you end up getting the shell, please let us know how it works out.
  3. Alan, Thank you for posting the great pictures and information. Here's a little article regarding the 40th anniversary: http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/16/nissan-celebrates-40-years-of-z-with-a-limited-edition-model/
  4. Yes, that is a joke. Check out the Series I on the link below, it's a much better deal for a Buy-it-now price of only $275.00: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240z-datsun-240z-nice-parts-car-or-restore_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQitemZ160370423011
  5. No, I didn't take the picture. Here's where I found it: http://americandreamcars.com/1972240z100507.htm
  6. This one looks too far gone..... Dan, Is this a typical example from what you have to choose from in Canada?
  7. Love the 918 Orange paint!
  8. This is a picture of my '71 240Z that the previous owner in Phoenix sent me before I had the car shipped here to Colorado. Since I'm looking for a more stock look, I plan to put on the dealer-optioned slotted wheels on the car.
  9. Here's another one: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/1405602959.htmlhttp://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/1405602959.html
  10. Here's a complete Arizona rust-free '83 280ZX Turbo with 5-speed for only $1,500.00: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/1410629125.html
  11. Yeah, $15k was my guess as well; however, I still firmly believe that if was an earlier year 240Z it would have brought more money.
  12. Why do you want an old, used piece of weatherstrip? Why not replace with a new piece?
  13. Greg, Yes, they have always included minor repairs such as fixing small dings, scratches and even some very minor straightening. In fact, one of my front bumpers was missing a nut on one of the small mounting brackets on the backside of the bumper and they welded a new one on for me as part of the service. Jimmy, I'm sure you will be happy with the quality of the workmanship, the reasonable shipping that they charge and the quick turnaround time.
  14. Hi Jim, Well, I understand that it now costs $250.00 to do the front bumper (without guards). Yes, they do it the old fashioned way. I've had 3 sets of 240Z bumpers re-chromed by them plus an extra front bumper that I ended up selling to Enigma a little over 2 years ago. Enigma said that he was very happy with the bumper. Additionally, Beandip and Dhayes5 shipped their 240Z bumpers to Denver Bumper and they both told me that they were very happy with them and the shipping costs were very reasonable. Here are the current costs to re-chrome 240Z bumpers at Denver Bumper Works: Front bumper: $250.00 Guards (front or back): $50.00 each Rear Center piece: $100.00 Rear side pieces: $75.00 each
  15. I agree with Montezuma, I would say right around $15K. If the car were older ('70, '71 or '72), it would definitely bring more money.
  16. I've had all of my bumpers for all 3 of my projects re-chromed at Denver Bumper Works. I had my front bumper done for $225.00 and I highly recommend them. Perhaps there is a company in the Northeast that can do it for you. There are a few members here that shipped their bumpers to Denver Bumper and all of them told me that they were very happy with the results. Here's the link to their website: http://www.denverbumper.com/

Actually, they were used on the '72 & '73 240Z, 260Z and the '75 280Z. The earlier and much more rare 'D' wheel covers were used on all '70 and '71 240Zs. My suggestion to get the most money would be to list them on Ebay. Be sure to have good pictures of both the front and the backsides. The 'Z' wheel covers are much more common; however, you don't see too many sets for sale that are in good condition. Good luck.
  18. It's definitely a blue on blue car, too bad the original engine is gone. Rear bumper is off of a '73 -a sign that the car could have had rear end damage at one time. Still, if this car is one of a few remaining '69 production Zs that are blue on blue, that is something special.
  19. Judging from the pictures, the car appears to be in very good shape. FYI, it's a Series III car, not a Series II, but nonetheless, a very clean California 240Z. Does the owner have documentation on the mileage?
  20. Wow, you're right Mike.....I noticed the rear valance but not the over spray. You would think that if someone is asking that kind of money for the car, they would at least clean up the over spray.
  21. Guy, I couldn't agree with you more. For many years, Carl Beck has tried to stress that probably the single most important factor when selecting a Z is how solid the body is. It's always worth paying more for a Z-car with very little or virtually no rust than paying less and having to deal with the expense and frustration of a rusted car. Just as your '70 spent its entire life in the dry Arizona desert climate, I took Carl's advice and looked hard for the most solid project car I could find and found one in Arizona. There have been plenty of solid 240Zs for sale over the years in the southwest (Arizona, California, Texas, Nevada and New Mexico) you just have to keep looking and not worry so much about the cost of shipping. Heck, the shipping is a just a drop in the bucket compared to what a lot of guys are paying for rust repairs.
  22. One of my favorite 240Z colors -918 Orange. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250451073740&viewitem=&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching&salenotsupported

I agree with you, Z-connection is a much better seller. If you buy multiple items from him, he will always combine the shipping to save on shipping costs. He's also very responsive, helpful and courteous in his e-mail communications. Unlike Reddat who is very short and rude in his e-mail communications. As far as shipping is concerned with Reddat, don't even get me started... I sent him an e-mail about 3 or 4 years ago regarding a few BIN NOS 240z parts on Ebay and since he never lists shipping costs on his items, he refused to combine shipping and wanted a small fortune to ship a few small items from Texas to Colorado. After I told him that his shipping costs were extremely excessive, his reply was "Well, I need to make money somehow".
