  1. That guy must have won the lottery to go from having an old BMW and a Chevette parked in the driveway to having Ferrari's etc parked in there.
  2. Here's one for the rest of us. Looks like a nice car for a lot less money. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4532363284&category=6187
  3. Looks like his wife threw an ultimatum at him, and the Z's lost. He'll regret this in 5 years when he divorces her.
  4. I broke down and got a pair of the Konig Rewinds 10 days ago. Makes seeing these bittersweet but I did save about $250 that can be used elsewhere. It was very difficult to touch a good set of Watanabe's here for less than $1000. I also took into consideration my reaction if the Wats ever got road rash or accidentally met the curb due to overconfidence and "underability" at the wrong time. I'm leaving here in July and can't wait to be reunited with my Z. Our new place will have a 2 car garage and a small workshop my wife has generously offered to me. Thanks for asking, I appreciate it.

  6. Seems like a crime to see one go for that much when you can order one from Nismoparts.com for $130.
  7. Any recommendations for lug nuts with a new set of Rewinds?
  8. How about this one. It looks sweet in the pictures. Color is a love it or hate it kind of thing though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4526072009&category=6187&sspagename=WDVW
  9. I bought one for $120 from Nismoparts.com. If it does go for over $150, you might try there. Don't know if they ship overseas though. There's only one part number listed, doesn't specify 240 only or 260-280 only.

I guess it was the beginning of the end when I told my first wife that although she was younger than my first 240 (Nov '71), the Z was aging more gracefully. 2nd wife/Z both are just as moody but the Z is easier to troubleshoot and diagnose. Both cures involve money, wrenching of hands, gritting of teeth. I love both dearly and can't wait to take the results of our sex (3 month old) for her first spin in the Z.
  11. In case anyone is looking for one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7952441095&category=33645
  12. One, Dubya. Don't confuse a redneck with a "good ol' boy". Ive league schools are full of "good ol' boys" whereas state schools with "State", "A&M", or "Tech" in their name are full of rednecks.
  13. I wonder if the ACLU would sue GM if these obviously societally "challenged" lower middle class white males (aka rednecks) were to injure themselves using said GM design for mass transit purposes. Bush isn't a redneck. Rednecks don't go to Ivy League schools. It's an insult to their character to conceive attending such institutions.
  14. Naw that's just social Darwinism. You have to "thin the herd" somehow and starting with the lame and stupid makes the whole process more bearable. It did look like they finally found a good use for one of those ugly little designs GM came up with to compete against Toyota's Corolla and Nissan's Sentra. Can you believe those idiots took a version of that car and gave it a Cadillac badge?
  15. Eric, where are you at in Japan right now? How long will you be here?
  16. Don't Koni's have a lifetime guarantee? You might be able to get them repaired or replaced for free.
  17. I ordered a JDM "Optional grill" for my '73. nismoparts.com had it "on Special" for $114. It has arrived and looks great...only took about 10 days from order to delivery.
  18. Anyone have these on their street car? Will having them wear anything more quickly in the front end? Thanks
  19. I saw where I think they offered Mitsubishi parts too as well as operating Nissanparts.com or some similar website. I'll see if they have available to ship what I want and let you know how the whole experience went. Thanks.
  20. I've found some goodies I'd like to order but am leery since the site advertises to sell parts for four other different makes. Anyone ever ordered from them before? Recommendations? Thanks
  21. Looks like a beautiful circuit, the kind where the blind corners and earthen embankments make the margin of error all the more slim correspondingly driving up the entertainment value?
  22. I had a similar problem and it ended up being my voltage regulator. My battery blew up and ate a hole through the wheel well so beware of driving the car any great distance not knowing exactly what's wrong. A buddy of mine said you can check the alternator by taking a screwdriver and putting the tip of it on the middle of the backside of the alternator. He said there should be a magnetic pull when you do that, otherwise, your alternator probably isn't charging the battery. (I know, another "my buddy" but it's worked for me in the past.)
  23. It will boil down to how much you've got to spend and how mechanically inclined you are to work on the car. More money up front buys you a car in better shape. Regardless of what you spend, whatever you buy will require time spent working on it to improve things and reapir things from time to time. If your looking for "starts every time" transportation, you need to get the Z as a second car in a few years. There are plenty of them in Ca and a lot of Z car clubs with Z's in various states of repair for sale. It may make your ownership experience more pleasurable if it's a hobby and not something you have to get back together Sunday night to go to school/work Monday am.
  24. Still curious what the popping sound was. Can you humor a non mechanically inclined person?
  25. Just the kind of guys you want defending your country. You want guys to defend your freedom to enjoy your ladies instead of some other joker from another country mackin' on 'em.
