  1. simple really, its a matter of production numbers for certain color and engine as well as package combos, get the same year 318 cuda in the brown gold and you will be lucky to see 15-20 k , find a cuda convertable with the plum crazy color and a big block especially a hemi and its top dollar , not including the AAR ones or 360 units or 6 pack cars, kinda the same deal as COPO's and rare California special mustangs or shelby units , I don't disagree with the choice of 10 240's in prestine condition but you also have to expect the price to rise for both as rust and donor cars rsult in less of both , rare cuda and challengers and 240z's , wish I still had some of the old mopars as well as the other old Z's I had in the past but that thought goes in the pile next to investing in microsoft or intel when they first got to the stock market
  2. to funny that one guy says that the early z's weren't chick magnets, gotten more from my old 240's than my porsches and supras combined, also I guess it would depend if you want a woman with style
  3. here is my bad guess adjustable rear suspension that goes where the rear arm attaches to the strut and brake housing ,

If you have lost all like Enrique suggests I would pull the fuse box and examine the back, clean and pull all the fuses if the connections look greenish or check to see if they might be loose.
  5. A good investment would be a shop manual for the car, pull the cap and rotor off the distributor and with a screw drive <flat head> open up the points and see if they are pitted at all or have uneven wear or white areas around the edges. You might need a flash light to get a good view. To adjust them there are two ajustment screws one right below and one above , but there are 3 total there. With the raised side of the distributor shaft hitting the points you can adjust the gap, I think its .0018-.0022 , but you have to have it on the top of the distributor lobe for lack of a better term. If you need pics I can send ? I do better with hand on than descriptions. I would also try running the car with the gallon gas tank next to it. I bought like 6-7 feet of fuel line and that how i diagnosed my to have crap in the tank. After having the tank cleaned no more prob and my car sat for 2 years and i did what you did , added fresh fuel to a little bad. If you might have a funky gas smell if you keep it in the garage its varnish like , I would point towards the tank. But try it with the stand alone fuel can. But also you might have clogged the fuel filter as well as the inline filter in the carbs with the junk can can be brought up from the tank from sitting. Good Luck
  6. search the treads for rx7 fuel pumps, beandip I think , was the one who used one from a carbed one and had great results, they are rather inexpensive or you can find an another from a regular parts store, you can use a vacume gauge and check your fuel pressure as well, good luck
  7. I had the same issue twice , did it start running poorly just after the choke was turned off < pushing down the choke handle? If so you might have it stuck and that will give you that kind of issue somewhat . Also check the gap in the points as well as the points , acts just like that. Good luck
  8. dead flow easy way to see if its the belt , with car idling spray wd40 or other lubricant onto belt , the the noise immediately goes away there ya go its dry and worn out probably , use the little red straw for this and watch your fingers and don't wear a tie when doing this
  9. 19 is a bit high for me, I would say 12-14 tops but thats also a matter of choice and taste, some like them completely original, but also its where it is located that could drive up the price a bit , hope he gets it but don't think he will.
  10. I would try napa or just ask you local parts place that isn't a discount type store and most can get you a specific name gasket if you ask . Probably under 12 bucks
  11. I would try courtesy parts in texas or msa . http://www.courtesyparts.com/ http://www.motorsportauto.com Also check tep they may carry a hight grade set too, i know they carry arp bolts. http://www.racetep.com/ Good luck
  12. The header gasket they send us had always worked fine for me. I fyou read up in threads, i have heard diffrent results but mostly positive. I just recommend cleaning the header flanges where it attaches very well to make sure its a perfectly flat fit. By the way if the intake and exhaust isn't offalready you might want to pick up new studs and bolts with the expectation of breakage.Good luck
  13. Wil , it would be great to have the setup describe to have a week and say 5 grand to make a 12 sec car from a stock 240z without changing motors, that would be neat
  14. well I my back and neck say brake booster but after just now getting the back bumper on from cleaning it my left hand says definately that bumper bolt
  15. Ok I just got done doing a brake booster last week and its a toss up between the top nut on the inside of the car on the right which only will let you turn it 1/4 to 1/8 a turn at a time :tapemouth or the damn passenger side bumper bolt next to the tank which has similar qualities. Anybody have any other favorites?
  16. helps if I put in the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7934103497&category=43955&sspagename=WDVW
  17. I know they are Ronals, but they aren't bad looking . Only thing is they are a bit narrow but still look nice and I bet nicer if they were redone. Hope someone here get them. Good Luck

Have you pulled the fuse box and checked the back of it? Also track down the wiring that went to that capacitor. But it sound like he might have a line wire for an amp that might be laying around hot or maybe for some other device cb or such.
  19. I would recommend first buying the z therapy just su's video , because you have to assume some tuning might need to be done as well as a complete rebuild at worst. I would check ebay as well as zcar.com. But don't pay too much maybe 150 tops but keep your manifold as Carl says its the prefered set up. Good luck

Sounds very much like an crossed exposed wire. Sounds like a long day of tracking down wires, did you happent o do anything recently that made it start up or was it just start out of nowhere? Also crazy question but is the ignition fully off?
  21. Paypal wouldn't cover it under their buyer protection?
  22. Hey all I am looking at a set of wheels and they are 4 on 4.5 and the size is 15x6 with a +10 offset. Any ideal how these might look and if would have any fitment issues? If anyone has anything similar to this size what tire might I be able to get on it without rubbing? I was thinking a 205/60 or maybe a 215 /55 . Wasn't sure. Thanks

hello all, found this site in my great search for nice pedals for my 240z, I have been looking for a non universal kind , something that really made a nice touch instead of a statement of bad taste. Hope someone can use the info http://www.ultimatepedals.com/

I have had assorted colors with my z's, I love the brg though i have not had the pleasure of owning one that color, mine have been white red yellow and silver, presently my 71 will be going from guards red <porsche color> to a brighter 2003 Ferrari Rosa Corsa , and I wish I had the money to make my 72 Lime green , but more green than the factory 112 color more like mopar sublime green. I researched alot and did alot of thinking , as should I stay stock color or also if I changed it what would I like for a long time , look in the gallery and see what strikes your fancy , good luck
