  1. Hi guys, I'm curious about this, there's a JDM C110 in my local wreckers, it has an L20 Turbo in it and I finally got around to checking the head number on it :stupid: and was disturbed when I found '05L' so I rushed home and performed a search in the hope that someone may know. There was only a thread that contained HKSZ mentioning it a couple of times with general interest and confusion. I was wondering whether anyone could shed some light on the situation. Alan or kats perhaps ?? Is it a good head to be worked on? Worth the bother? The only problem is the guy will only sell the complete engine, and it's been there for years and years but if it's worth the time it's something I could think a bit more seriously about getting. Thanks in advance.
  2. Sounds good James. Be sure to take plenty of pictures when you're done, some of us won't be able to see the car in person There's always something that's not quite right isnt there. Cursed fuel lines, lets hope your theory is correct. *fingers crossed*
  3. Far out, Good score, welcome and please, grace us with some pictures of your new toy.

  5. I would have to agree, they're odd looking. It's nice that they're Watanabe's but I'm not sure I like how the arms/spokes melt directly and flatly into the inner rim edge.. it's very odd. I much prefer the arms to maintain their form right into the rim edge. Still though, they're fat arse Watanabe's and congrats on them

Was it the Meaning Of Life, or Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?? My brain is failing me at the moment.
  7. My best is 1127.4 on the bloody mine penguin
  8. There's been a few of these show up on the local NZ auction website, I never really consider them worth the bother but if someone wants one let me know and if another one comes up I'll get it for you. There was 1 recently that was twice as good as the one you just got for about $1 if that and then there was another one that was MIB for a few dollars more.
  9. No No, not at all my good man! Infact it doesnt even have to be a 6cylinder. Prince Skylines: ALSIS-1, ALSIS-2, BLRA-3, S50, S54. Nissan Skylines: 1500, GC10, GC110, GC210, R30, R31, R32, R33, R34 and the latest one. Hope that clears up a little bit for you
  10. I agree, those do have an awesome dish, BUT! his car is not a 1st gen Skyline in the true sense of the range. It is a C10 though, which is a very nicely styled car.

Sounds good. Now you just need the elusive shell and engine.
  13. Yeah, it is special... it's the last Z to have a Straight-6 but you know what I mean :classic: I wouldn't turn one down. http://www.fsinet.or.jp/~ranfa/myfairlady-e.htm
  14. What're you talking about? Special edition? no.. it's just a JDM version as far as I'm aware. Export got the 300ZX. VG30E and VG30ET. JDM also got 200Z, 200ZS, 200ZG: VG20ET Standard on all models. 200ZR: RB20DET, Intercooled but the Intercooler is directly ontop of the engine, like a GTi-R so .. Interheater may be more appropriate. 300ZR: VG30DE. Almost the same HP numbers as the VG30ET and it doesn't even have a turbo. When it comes down to it, they're all just Z31's
  15. It looks strangely familiar ROFL :stupid:
  16. Far out.. sounds pretty decent! Is there enough stuff to spend days going through? I love that kinda place. If you wouldn't mind going back to get the 240KGT service manual at some stage, I'd be more than appreciative. My long term plan is to take all the info from the service and parts manuals and brochures and put it online on a dedicated Skyline website so everyone can benefit from it... OH, and if he's got a 240Z or K 5-speed shift knob, I'd like one of those too :classic:
  17. Just a small clarification. Nome is First name. Cognome is Last name.

Yeah, that's a good find. Well done on that, as Alan said.. the GT-B came with Triples. Now that you've got the manifold you can go about getting the rest of the car to go with it.
  19. I'd really like one, The guy I got my car off has got two but won't sell me one and I can't find another one anywhere. It's definately the Service manual and NOT the parts manual though isnt it?

  23. It "seams" to be a form of welding. ..... Sorry, I couldn't help myself. :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:
  24. Yeah, I agree I was riveted to my seat for ages til I read most of the construction history.. very impressive. Thanks for the link EricB
  25. No, the K's 2BBL Vacuum Secondary is Manual Choke, I always use the choke when starting, but it's probably a little colder down at the bottom of the South Island of NZ than it is where Alfadog is
