What size T-shirt do you wear?
Cheeze Whiz I'm amazed that such big & tall people are in love with such little cars? Must be the TIGHT fit!

240Z won't run
I would also change out the fuel filter even if it was a new one that you started with. If you are running SU carbs, there is also a "last chance" filter screen in the fittings that feed the fuel float bowls that may need to be cleaned out, some people just run without them, but like I call em -last chance, I use em. Might check down in the fuel bowl to see that they are clean once you get ready to start it up again after cleaning the tank. Good luck.

Need help remembering.
Yea! That's it! I remember clearly now. Had to shock some of the half dead brain cells back to life. Now I just gotta go pull off the cover from the spare motor out back. Thanks guys! Chino

Need help remembering.
Last year on line somewhere I thought I saw a place to buy a chromed valve cover with exchange of the old one. Don't really want the up-keep of keeping a polished one polished. Chrome or nickel plated may be what I would like to do. Was I dreaming again or does anyone know of a place? Thanks Craig

My Factory Restored 1972 240Z
I love the color. My first Z was a 72, same color. Last night I was talking to my wife about wishing we still had that ol'72 still and today I see you with yours. Don't ever sell it you will regret it!!! Nice work.

Instrument panel.
Like you said, she's the "Boss". It is one of the ways I can keep this bad habit going and also she has more buying power than I do, so I have to give some where ya know. . . :nervous:

Instrument panel.
Oh well, picture doesn't look all that clear when it comes up. But you can see one later, in my gallery. Cheers

Instrument panel.
Here is an instrument panel plate that I made with a friends laser engraving machine. It is the first one and we're trying it out to see how it holds up. For now I just used a simple graphic layout, basic colors, a little personal touch for fun and well check it out. It's not so much for the restoration type of person, but rather custom. Craig

oh man
That's crazzzy! In my car I found an envelop that had paper work where the PO was trying to solve registration problems. He had a bunch of police tickets for speeding in a modified car. Fix-it tickets for "No head lights, exhaust muffler, window wipers, turn signals, and all kinds of crap". This was one major paper trail from the day he took this road race car for a ride in the streets of San Francisco and got nailed. He gave up the fight with the temporary fix-its and repairs on the car and paid the tickets. ha ha ha Now I got the car. Won't add a thing either, I just hope Cindy doesn't get caught during a test drive, but you know women, you can't stop them even in a speeding Z!

Places to buy and see Z stuff in Japan
Vincent San, The area you will be going to in just beautiful. I had a friend in Yamagata and he loved his stay. I lived in Sendai, Morioka, Kitakami, Akita (Akita dogs originated from here) and Oodate. My favorite place is Japan was Aizuwakamatsu. Aizu is inland from Sendai & not to far from Yamagata. There is a castle in Aizu. (actually they are everywhere) with alot of Samurai history there. Yamagata is a fairly good size city. Outside the city the streets are narrow with lots of rice fields and forrest with every thing green. You will see lots of cars, mini trucks and vans on the road that were never released to the U.S.A. Once in awhile you may see a Mustang or a big American made car and it looks so out of place on the small streets. Get out of the big city and see the country, that is when you can really see and feel Japan and its people. If you get a chance to see someones Zed, ask them about it. They are always proud when someone notices their car! Don't forget to take some pictures of your car with you to share too. O'Genki desu yo. Craig :classic:

your day of birth
Ha ha, I could be your parent! When I was your age, I walked to school in the SNOW! or Son, you better let me drive the Z today, don't want anything bad to happen to it from you racing it!

max revs for cast pistons
You also might not want to rev. so high especially when your horse power may peak, say 6500 or something. This is where a dyno pull print out will show your useable hp and much past that point your hp drops off and you should be in the next gear. Well unless you're like me and pegging 5th, I need rear gear swap.

your day of birth
That was my year too!

Vara @ Cal.Speedway
...but Sunday and Monday was to build an electromatic science project experiment for my 4th grader, then redesign the slot car track layout for my 5 year old future Z racer. He wanted it on all the furniture, but he had to settle for this. Well, it's all fun. :classic:

Griffin
Steve, This is not the type picture you need but gives idea of where the logo came from - Greek Mythology Creature. I like the mean looking Griffins. Later - Craig
