It is stuck! I mean fused like fast-food chicken
Carl, Now you tell me-the worst part is now, I remember the thread, I had been looking at it for pointers as I have never replaced the bushings before! I did take out the keeper bolt before hammering away, but both ends are now threaded mushrooms thought I probably could cut off thedamaged part and still manage to keep 10-12mm of threads. If that doesn't work, the only thing I think I can do is to sacrifice the part that is the same only upside down between the sides and shares with all S-30s to get the pin out and reuse the 240 bearing and strut portion, adding the pin and cut portion from a 280Z. The other side came out with a few taps, and a pair of vice grips on the nut-not even a real challenge! Maybe I should arrange to borrow one of those jewels before I get the spare to take parts from. Who ever has it, if I may borrow it, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity-I will hunt down the thread and ask a little more appropriately. Will

It is stuck! I mean fused like fast-food chicken
I pulled the suspension off the '72 last week, and went about takeing everything apart for cleaning up, painting and replacing the bushings. I had three corners done, and when I got to the lower pivot on the DS rear(links the strut carrier to the lower suspension member), the MFSOB shaft will not come out. I have tried liquid solvent over night, a two lb hammer(that shaft sure is maleable) a 4lb hammer (did I mention distorting the shaft?), massive doses of oxy/acet, and welding up a jig to use a 4lb slide hammer on the (at one time) still pristine end. The shaft has not moved at all, needless to say, it is trash now, but I would still like to use the pieces from that corner instead of pulling one from a parts car. If nobody has any suggestions, I will pull another corner next weekend. Thanks for any and all suggestions! Will

What defines a 240Z a classic?
Ok, lets see if we can get this thread rolling again! There once was a Z from Nantucket, The owner drained her oil in a bucket, He said with a grin, getting from under her again, If my Z had a__________________ I would __________________________ it! Maybe that isn't what you had in mind TomoHawk, but I just had a wild hair (one of the few i have left!!) Seriously, all of you, what makes you appreciate spending time, money, and energy on your Z, and not somewhere else? Will PS, I used my avitar for the first picture!

Charley's Comming
Mike, You really need to spend some time with your Z! I think the withdrawl(that's a southern man discriptive) is doing more to you than Charles will do to me-at least I hope! If I get oblitherated, I am going to haunt your Z! (just like Private Malone) Will

Charley's Comming
When it gets through with FLA, it looks as though it is comming to visit me! I Sent the Wife and TBA off for the weekend, so It is just me, the cat, and the BFT! The Zs are in the garages, the SPl is on the far end of the house, tripple tarped and wrapped in an elastic truck bed net. I am glad I took all of the Pines down last year, all that are left are the Oaks. Will

Your opinion on this front air dam (sweet)
The Airdam at the start of this postlooks like it was made for another car, and just happened to fit, not like it was intended to add to and blend with a Z-too obviously an addon to look right, but if making the parts you add stand out is what you want, that spoiler does it with a vengance! I like some of the others, my '73 had one with brake ducts, it worked with the car, and added to, instead of detracting from, the factory styling. My '72 is getting a ducted BRE spook spoiler. Will

How to's on reupholstering
As I get my car back together, I will be taking pictures and video of that very thing, and writing it up. Actually I have an atricle on carpeting written, but without the pictures, it needs another 5,000 words... Will Check Amazon for the books on the available used listing. I have bought one of those referenced, it is a good book, has some good ideas, but some are not practical in your situation. Buying a $1,000 sewing machine, a $200 stapeler, and $150 worth of shears, needles, and $300 in materials puts you in the same ball park you are trying to stay out of. If you don't take the reccomended equipment to heart, but use the basic info for ideas, the book is full of them! Will

Not really a rotisserie...
Get with Kmack-I bought a rotisserie from him, VERY reasonable, well made, and best of all it works-see my avitar! Will

Toyota Brake conversion details
I am doing the same conversion, and I have all of the parts except the flex lines(I want Braided Stainless, and have not taken the time to search the arcive or compare the size/thread of the fittings to be sure of what I need.) I have the suspension off the car, and can put the pieces together for measurements if you need them- my only worry is the fit of the Aluminum slot mags, the newer brake parts may take up more space than the wheels will allow-Ed verified that his fit, but I am using the vented rotor setup which is wider-though I am not certian relative to where. Some of the sites I visited mentioned the need to machine a wee bit off the rotor to decrease its diameter for wheel clearance. I found the cores for the rotors on car-parts.com for $30 a pair-the yard was local, so I had no shipping charges, the spacers came from JSK innovations, and were $65 a pair if memory serves. Will

I knew it would fit!
Too much Z stuf, too little space-welcome to the turbo-c harged garage-it all must be under pressure, or it wouldn't fit.

what's the deal with these bumpers?
78 Z, paint on the bumpers is there to hide something-unfortunately it is probably uglier than what it is hiding! Will

Is This For Real?
You have obviously never met a blond Georgia bombshell! They are something to behold, but we cut out their vocal chords before they are big enought to cause real confusion-here in Georgia, we do kill what we don't understand, and in this particular instance, that would be a waste of the perfect piece of living exercize equipment-the only one I know of that actually creates the motivation to use it! She could be "challenged"-the evidence all points to it, sentance structure(?), thought paterns(or lack thereof), absence of logic, etc...I guess maybe it could be a Texas thing! Well hell Carl, you musta forgot that I was born in Texas too-or maybe not! I would like to think that would count for something-even if it is against me! Alaska is biggier than Texas, and more beautiful than Texas. Hell, I liked it so much I left my appendix there! The only things I left in Texas were my foot prints walking out! Will BTW Clinton is the moron that does not know what IS means, and admits it infront of a grand jurry and the entire world! I do like Texas, and I do hope to visit again-If they let me back in...

Fogging / misting of windscreen during rain
You guys must have something different in the air, or maybe the formula has changed. I had a beater occasional use PU, and used never fog for years on it-no climate control. It was always parked in the hot Georgia sun- I never had any similar problem. Btw. Alcohol or vinegar will remove almost any glass coating(warm the vinegar and apply a paper towel the glass (a wet paper towel will stick to glass until it dries) to disolve perminent water spots. Fogging / misting of windscreen during rain
As a temporary fix, get some never fog(made by the same people who make rain-x) also, put a few bags of dessicant in the car-it will lower the moisture content all day, and lessen the propensity to fog as well. Your control cable is out of whack, correct it, and your heater should work, but, the seals in your heater box have probably crumbled to the point of falling apart. Then address the heater problems. Headlight Bucket Removal
Your memory is right on Carl, 4! flake off the undercoating and I hope you will find nice, pretty bolt heads, not the rounded rusty rivets that my bolts had become! I did just what 2many Zs suggested. Will
