  1. I will have to powdercoat mine after all the TIG work...
  2. 69 PL510 77603 The signature gives it away....
  3. Funny you should say that! I DID find a trailer wiring harness hacked into the taillight harness!... never saw any signs of the hitch though. I threw the bumpers away first thing when I first disassembled!
  4. Plugged two mysterious holes in the spare tire well. No idea why they had been put there....! Placed ceramic backers in behind the holes then spot filled them in... I will finish them along with the rest of the bodywork. Fibreglass filler for all the possible pinhole areas that have been welded.
  5. I have a healthy fear of the dreaded rust as well. Everything will be sealed, protected and waterproofed as best as possible at all stages and areas of the car...
  6. My middle name is "Overkill"...
  7. A local friend is doing a 76 as well. It is going full tubular frame and RB26. He had already installed the Bad Dogs (tack welds) before the decision to go tubular so he will be cutting them off. I will be buying them off him just to increase the frame strength and cap the floorpan supports up to the new front frame rails from Zedd Findings that I haven't installed yet.
  8. More metal work in that corner to come...!
  9. A couple pictures of the corner patch I fabbed as well.
  10. Added the floor support tonight. Internal frame coating to protect the interior of the panel. Keep in mind the Bad Dog rails will go over these.
  11. Welder questions: I know I have not answered specifically but I thought pictures might help... Wire gauge is .6mm mild steel
  12. Seems like the bolt-in electric solution is a lot easier....
  13. Special thanks to@zKars for hooking me up with a few missing valance parts! What a stand up guy...
  14. That explains mine...
  15. wow.... I didn't know that... mine doesn't have one either...
  16. I am on the fence at the moment as I haven't investigated either fully. Your opinion would go a long way in my decision...
  17. My wife and I play on the Church mixed team. 2 hours of semi-competitive volleyball is fun! I play soccer and other sports with the military as well. ...and yes, the Z is getting power steering during the build!
  18. I will get more details tomorrow when I'm back in the shop. Tonight is volleyball! What I know now: - it is a Blue Point 110v welder - I'm using Blueshield Argon gas from Air Liquide - wire type, stick out and settings to come...
  19. Bought a copy myself just now! Looking forward to this unique book!
  20. No pictures tonight but I cut the footwell section out and formed a corner piece that was needed. Tacked it in for Travis (son in law) to finish weld. Very happy with the progress! Good solid metal to work with!
  21. Looking at the original photo and the car, what you might be seeing is some of the seam filler that is still in place as well. It is rust coloured and brown in a lot of places. That will be cleaned out and replaced as well.
  22. The interior has already been blasted. That is flash rust and it will be cleaned up after the rest of the welding is done...
  23. Inside Still needs trimming at the footwell and final welding. 10,000 times easier than the driver side..
  24. Passenger floor pan going in...
