  1. Back from training! Lot's of packages awaiting me on my return.... I received the spade style LED's for the dash mod, Chas's absolutely awesome bumper mod kit arrived looking like artwork, several packages from Eastwood with powder coating supplies including their new "chrome" powder that looks amazing in the pictures. I will try that out on one of the spare valve covers. Still trying to finish the major yard work project that I started before the last exercise.... almost done! Soon I can return to the 280... Sad new is I might be losing my MIG welder. My son-in-law needs it on a job site out of town. Guess I will need to pony up and buy my own
  2. I don't know if that modified look is what you should be going for... Crate that engine up, send it to me and I will send you a nice stock original 280 engine in mildly abused condition .... No charge!
  3. Worth a shot!
  4. That's a nice wheel but the cdn exchange hurts...
  5. Takayuki has a nice one for sale too...
  6. Keep in mind, I have been using two types of media. I use a crushed glass (ultra fine) for detailed work like the headlight surrounds and the horns etc. The copper slag was only for the rough underbody work etc. I have detailed that in this thread in previous posts...

  8. The media is actually a crystalline structure with sharp edges like coal. It is a by product of copper smelting and is hence called "copper slag" No copper content. No issues with using this material at all. It leaves a slightly textured surface that is perfect for hi build primers and other sealants as it gives the perfect surface for adhesion. The floor pans are ongoing as I have been deployed for the last two months and the prior month I was prepping some major yard work. I will be back working on the car when I return home mid June. The floor pans will not be welded around the outside. They will be cut with the existing metal to form a perfect butt weld seam and then welded. It is easier to do the metal forming from the outside at the moment. All the parts are held in with Cleco's so they can be removed for fitting. The frame rail helps support the floor pan the correct position. Thanks for the interest!
  9. Triple post... Really bad cell signal here!
  10. Looking forward to receiving mine when I get home from this current training exercise. I have seen Chas's work first hand and have no doubt I will be equally impressed!
  11. Baking Light is in along with most of the other toys I ordered. I added a few things to the buy list as well. Picked up the TechnoVersions modified trans mount for the RT Diff Mount. Gonna powder coat that diff mount too! Ordered a small arsenal of LED lights to play with the dash lights eventually.Ordered a bag of 5mm Plastic rivets for the panels. Ordered another 12 pin harness adapter for the Fuel Injection as the first one never arrived. 3M Paint cup system starter cups arrived. Don't know if I mentioned it or not before but I also ordered and received a NOS OEM 5 spd shift knob in black leather for the car. Loving that! Here's a question.... Does anyone know of a company that will rewrap and restore a rubber wrapped steering wheel (original 280Z) with a new leather cover? I plan on painting the metal areas, but would love to have to professionally rewrapped in a leather stitched cover.
  12. Face palm! I just ordered $100 worth of three colours from Eastwood today!

  15. God speed and God bless you my friend. Good luck in finding a home for your car and may your health improve! Life happens.
  16. Very nice Chas! Thank you!
  17. Look what you started Chas! Maybe next bright idea I have ill just send by PM.... Or maybe just resign yourself to opening a custom fab shop!
  18. Some pics of the powder coating parts I ordered... Thermal temp sensor 2400w baking light
  19. You do not need the lower diff mount (rubber component) as the GM mount both supports and cushions the diff with a suspended bolt that will 'catch' the diff in case of bushing failure. See their page for details!

  21. Ordered a TechnoVersions GM trans mount for my RT diff mount! That and my powder coating lights. And a thermal temp gun. And a 3M paint cups kit. Oops. eBay happy I guess.
  22. . Nice! My Eastwood PC kit just arrived too!
  23. Sorry I missed this post.... Been busy! I think I will be using the stock N42 head on the stock build. The P90 will be a project for the performance block later. Needs more research.
