That White/Blue Series I was a Give Away Price - really great buy for the new owners, sad the Seller didn't set a reasonable Reserve in this down market. Most likely could have posted an Ad on-line and sold it quickly for $18K to $20K...

Part of the St. Yves Datsun/Nissan collection sold at Meccum Kissimmee, FL 2024. $46,200.00. Looks like it has been further refreshed since then. Should do well, given the $53k for the last 72 sold.

"7k miles shown" Odometer questionable. Picture #106/238: In the 1980’s automotive manufacturers introduced “tamper resistant” mechanical odometers. The “Crooked Digit” Effect: Once a tooth skipped or a gear was forced out of its factory alignment (by spinning the gears in reverse), the numbers could no longer sit straight. The digits would become permanently misaligned, crooked, or unevenly spaced inside the cluster window. The Michelin X tires of the 1970’s were a 40,000 mile warranty tire. Original tread depth was 10/32’s”. Looking at the tread ware on these, would indicate to me far more than 7K miles. Hard to see the current tread depth, but looking from the inside through the engine bay -they look pretty worn.. No question it is a very low mileage example, with lots of very clean original equipment... but I would call it "total mileage unknown".

Classic, Collector and Special Interest markets go UP and DOWN. 240Z's are presently in a market going down.. Not the time to sell if you do not have too. It is a time to Buy if you find the right car for yourself....

At Daytona, NISSAN had displays and games set up inside that Tent. One was called "Pit Stop" - if you could change a wheel/tire on the display within certain seconds - you could win prises. Top prise was a pair of leather driving gloves... Still have mine!

Most likely a good deal for the buyer, but Color change with blacked out engine compartment, very few and poor photo's of the undercarriage didn't help. Sign of the times in this market. When sales prices drop, like we have seen in the past couple years - new buyers are even more hesitant to buy in - unless they feel they are getting a bargain.

Hi Kats Thank you for sharing so much great information. A friend of mine is bidding on this Z432, so I’ll point him and Justin to your Post. Maybe they can keep both Z432’s her in Florida.

Datsun 240Z Enthusiasts! Literal barn find. 1972 Datsun 240Z original owner white/black/automatic 111,999 miles
I believe AI is mistaken - White 240Z's came with Blue interiors in 1970/71 and Red for 72/73 - the White 260Z in 74 finally came with a Black interior. Good luck with the sale..

Hello think “original paint White exterior” - - what makes you think that? Looks like it was originally Yellow. A White 72 usually has a Red interior. Not running/driving - with an Automatic Transmission and 100K miles. Looks like it is presently in Primer, with some dents/dings. Perhaps a good “Project” for someone to take on. Without seeing the undercarriage… $12K to $15K

CAD or ZINC.. now we know.
These were retained OEM parts I had intended to send out to be refinished - they came from 69-73 production year 240Z's that had passed through. In total they would 1/2 fill a 5 gallon bucket.

Cadmium Or ZINC? It is Pi Day - so I wanted to get this Posted today. The Cad/Zinc question has been ongoing for a long time. With today’s technology for environmental testing very broadly available - I wanted to find out what the answer to that question actually is. I sent 22 assorted nuts, bolts, fasteners and small parts to an environmental lab for testing. Now we know, and I can’t argue with that. More details for each part analysis are on the Z Car Home Page; https://zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/CAD:ZINC/Plating.htm
