I can't believe no-one has mentioned "Burning 240z" by The Royal Fingers.. go the Japanese surf music!
  4. Damn.. I'd love to know what the options were. I understand your desire not to go through the whole drama though Alan! I wonder what the rarest standard dealer option is though. My bet would probably be the vinyl roof, anyone know?
  5. Go here: http://www.flixvault.org/various.htm and download RWD v FWD v AWD.
  6. Alan, Any chance of putting up the sports option list, perhaps in another thread? Then we can all drool, wish and dig deeper at those swap meets. Failing that is there anywhere else we can get our hands on the lists? Great thread..
  7. My brother will be putting his 260 2+2 up for sale very soon. It's amazing, anyone after an incredibly original car with low k's and full dealer history, feel free to PM me. No way you could replicate it for the money..

There was also a BMC colour called Pale Primrose Yellow which is similar to the Roadster colour above. Something like that might be what you're looking for. My father's MGB GT was that colour. Sounded awful, looked great - especially against chrome.
  9. Another 240z on Carpoint. Looks like a nice example, would have to be for the price though! Silver 240 for sale
  10. I don't have an expansion tank and mine's a '73. Could explain why I always find the diagram rather confusing..
  11. So what you guys are saying is that the vent hose runs off the back of the fuel tank, through behind the internal trim panel (behind the RHS strut) and then down behind the rear right wheel? At that point my hose just points down to the ground and doesn't connect to anything. Should it, after coming out from behind the trim panel and behind the wheel, reconnect to something? I've always wondered why it vented to the air...
  12. Looks like Practical Classics has some articles on 240's + one on SU's coming up in the Sept 2004 issue. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=72039&item=6922035912&rd=1
  13. I've seen a z with a factory vinyl roof - it was an auto 260 2 seater living in Sydney. I thought about it, but it did look pretty horrible so I passed on the car. Other than looking awful, vinyl can be a trap for rust.. I'd say an FM pack is an FM radio. Mine was/is AM only.
  14. It's probably like he says "it get lots of attention". Yeah, like standing, pointing AND laughing..
  15. I'm a financial planner, working for a stockbroking firm.

    Long-nosed 350z Opinions?
  17. There's a guy in the NDSOC with a silver 260 with a similar stripe down the side - he restored the car only recently. I'll see if I can find a photo..
  18. I think the old-school black bonnet can look good. If you wanted a "new school" variation you could always go carbon-fibre - then you could take it back to stock when you want to sell the car. You'd have a lightweight bonnet and a spare in case of accident too!
  19. ..its a movie starring Wierd Al from the 80's, but also has heaps of other comedians in it that are now very famous - one of which is Kramer. Very funny and definately worth chasing down on video from the video shop. Supplies!!!!!
  20. Ha! You Vidiot.
  21. Where's Lachlan?

  23. Depends how fussed about originality you are I guess. I've always wondered how easy it would be to take a period block (ie the correct casting) and just re-stamp the numbers. Of course no-one would do THAT
