That red goo looks like a half done Red Kote tank lining. Reads like the PO dropped the tank to seal it and saw what a PITA it is and slapped it all back on too quick. That stuff takes at least a week to cure. I don't think he waited and got in a hurry with the hoses too, maybe his daily driver? I would check the fuel hardlines from the tank to the engine bay with an air gun to see if you have blockage there from the uncured Red Kote. Here's a picture of mine after lining it, looks very similar in color.

That's a nice looking car! I had a friend that had a black Z with white interior, and he kept it super clean just like you're doing. Welcome aboard and more pictures, please.

The bolt pattern is 4-114.30 with 195/70-14 tire size. You might could find some on e-bay? or call Direct Tire or Tire Rack. Seems like I've read an older Altima's spare fits our cars.

Hard to beat a Nissan that's for sure! I've never heard anybody complain about theirs if they've taken halfway decent care of it. Hard to beat that leaf blower in the bed of that Hardbody too, Stihl BR600. It has a SUMMER/WINTER flap just like our 240s.

Looks like the bolt to me. Maybe it's just loose? maybe my eyes are going bad? (most likely the latter)

On our carbureted motors with a mechanical fuel pump there's an off center cup looking thing on the cam's nose in front of the timing sprocket that moves the pump's arm every time the cam turns. Ehh here's something I found on google, How A Fuel Pump Works

Bump starter, especially for adjusting the valves. $15 at Auto Zone.

I paid a 71 year young man to polish this 42 year old paint. It's not perfect by any stretch of that word but WOW! Slick as a button and I won't have to get it painted for many years. Yes it is. Barely loosen the distributor hold down plate, put a golf tee in the vacuum hose off the vacuum advance and crank it. Turn it which ever way makes the valve train noise quietists then turn it counter clockwise about a 1/4" or so, if I recall correctly.

How old is the fuel filter? They're $15 at chain parts stores and always better than the one you have now.

Raising the needle leans it, clockwise. Richening is counter clockwise, turning the knob outward toward the fender.
