  1. I bought mine from amazon.com about 4 years ago? No problems so far but after writing this it'll stop working. You'll need the bigger cap and button plus the ZX coils are 1.5 OHMs. I think mine is a Pertronix Flamethrower, it's black I know. Also the spark plug gap is larger for the ZX ignition. Pretty easy install using "Blue's Tech Tips". Cranks just touching the key. I am very happy with that upgrade.
  2. Bummer! Sorry that didn't work for you, I see some skill in that copper work (I watch Moonshiner's a good bit). That's what I've always thought, those three wires that seat into the insulator seemed to work best when I pushed the horn pad on either to the left or right of those slots then turned the assembly until I could feel them click into place. $20 from 240rubber isn't bad at all, that's what I'll do. You should hurry he only has 2 now. I'll get one of his next batch?
  3. Clear coat over bird s h i t. That'd be a first for my eyes.
  4. Exactly what I was thinking but meth head instead!!!
  5. Yeah, he says he parked it in his garage. Apparently he moved to a different house?
  6. I don't think I would've included that first picture.
  7. I put a Zip-Tie around mine after filling the crack with Gorilla glue then cut the Zip off. That lasted only a few months, the Gorilla glue. It's like someone pulled it straight off in the past and caused the crack? I put mine back on just to the side of the three clip areas then twisted until it clicked into the slots. Maybe that is the wrong way? More reading...
  8. Cv boot band is a great idea. My local motorcycle shop sales them for 4-wheelers. I have them on my steering rack accordian boots covering the tie rods. Thank You!
  9. Should I use tapatalk or the classiczcar app? Are they the same thing or separate but work together? Not too sharp with the tech stuff. 8^(
  10. Looks good! Did you use the Sharpie oil pen for the silver? The back of mine has a crack where it locks on and falls into my lap if I hit a good bump in the road. I hope to figure that out soon, it's embarrassing when I have a passenger.
  11. Transport man. He ain't moving!
  12. Something is bad wrong with the forum. For the last two weeks about half my replies won't post from my Samsung phone. I can't get the reply box to show. Cuts my replies in half. Laptop works fine but nothing from my phone. Not a big deal to me but the people I'm responding to get no help. Probably a good thing!
  13. A talking frog asked an alligator "what were alligators favorite food"? The alligator says "I don't know about all alligators but mine is a talking frog".
  14. Beautiful car, should be on colorful Legos. When we go off we go way off.
  15. If it was all sloppy seems to me it would stay in gear. After rebuilding things are tighter, popping out would be greater.
  16. Reading comprehension, "successful project".
  17. Mine did great with the motor off. Tried to back out of my garage for the first time, popped out. Held pressure on it then got onto the street, 1st through 4th held perfect. Shifted to 5th, popped out. Got back home in my garage same thing, 5th and reverse wouldn't hold. Popped out as soon as I released the clutch. Ground a little off the shifter and it went a few feet before popping out. Ground more, a little further. Repeated a few more times and it stayed. Never popped out again. OE 4 speed shifter, '79 wide ratio 5 speed. Very rarely use 5th but reverse is a must. Paint it with something, lay out dye our fingernail polish then look for the nicks. Simple to do. And I would highly recommend bronze door pin bushings in the shift rod. My $.02.
  18. I'm with you Bob, most likely the tribute is a considerably lighter load. If I was you I think I would go with 2x8s or at least 2x6s.
  19. Couldn't think of the word, "cribbing". Thanks Mark! Holds houses up before and after relocating them.
  20. Take the shift rod out and look for the tell all signs of nicks above the snout. Mine did it, drove me crazy. Did a little grinding and now all is fine. Dave WM had the same issue.
  21. It comes with a tool kit.
  22. Houdini's levitating lady trick. Pass a hula hoop around It. Maybe he won't saw it half.
  23. You're exactly right! I really like mine too. Good stopping and never heard a sound from them. Maybe all the newer pads figured it out now but when I was in high school in the '80s I was constantly embarrassed by my 280 squealing. It was horrible. 4 Pioneer TS6907s with a Nakamechi Dragon head and Sony 400 watt amp fixed it.
