Is it just me or does this look familiar?
I agree with that 100%! Remember a month or so ago when someone posted those factory restored 240s in Japan. Dirty as can be. Able to buy two Zs but not $40 for covers. That's craaaaazy! Like staging a house for sale.

1972 Float Adjustment ...
I used the black fuel resistant rtv just a light coat on the lid then stuck the gaskets on. I lightly screwed my lids onto a spare set of carbs, no gas in the float chambers/bowls. If you take the floats off it a lot easier. Leave overnight. Then put the lids on your car's carburetors.

Resister tweak for fuel injection
I just did mine all the way and it stumbled down to 400 rpm but kept running, barely. It's about like removing the oil cap. Almost dies, my potentiometer from radio shack.

Weber selection and initial jet tuning
Aftermarket lash pads are flat on bottom, Nissan's have a hole the valve stems fits in. Is your's flat or does it have the hole? Another thing I've seen on this forum is the mouse trap springs hooked in the wrong way. My dementia is iffy today but i think it was one of @240260280 friends, Kammy? Just some guesses, also some write ups that may be useful. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1BOFA_enUS494US494&ei=-OCWWqiYCYLisAWuk5PYDw&q=lash+pad+fell+off+classiczcars.com&oq=lash+pad+fell+off+classiczcars.com&gs_l=psy-ab.3...55397.67929.0.69656.49.31.2.0.0.0.126.2114.30j1.31.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..24.1.84...0j0i7i10i30k1j0i7i30k1.0.cwiVEIcihMo

1973 240z Fuel Not Flowing
I would put a fram g2 clear plastic filter on the hose right out of the tank and watch it for a few days. My '72 was tough, all the evap hoses made it harder. That filler hose isn't too bad. I've read of people softening them up with a hair dryer. Good luck and here to help if you need any. I've done two with good results. Cliff

that's one of the hardest jobs I have to do to my two Zs. I hate those 4 nuts on the fan's pulley. I can't figure out why or what those slots are opened up for? Never figured a way to get one threaded side to slide on there. My best so far solution was a 10mm? socket with paper stuffed in it until the nut had barely enough room to fit up inside then used the loaded socket to start the nuts.

Checking correct fuel level at Round Top 3 screw SU CARBS Float bowls
Don't try to blame your problems on Ztherapy or the shipping company, they didn't arrive in this shape.

Resister tweak for fuel injection
Running like crap up to 2,500 rpm for me. Mine would stumble and then pick up, almost like a bucking bull. Spilt beer all over crotch. Here's what I went by, cost about $5 from radio shack when I did it. I ran mine into the cabin to play with while driving. You put it in between the existing wiring bullet connectors behind the thermostat housing so no damage or splicing the original wiring if it doesn't help. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/tempsensorpot/index.html

1972 Float Adjustment ...
That's a reducer not a restrictor, for a step down on hose size, it won't affect the PSI.

1972 Float Adjustment ...
I think they're saying the extra 7.5 turns down is that 1/16th you are talking about at 2.5 turns down? This simple thing people have done since they came off the boat has gotten knee deep on this thread and he has 3 active now. I think it'd be easier to raise the plane ticket money and send Mark down there and have boots/wrenches on the ground.

Bringing a 1977 Z back life
Nice, thankful people will get all the help they can stand on here. I know they all took me in even though I wasn't too knowledgeable on Zs in the beginning. This forum is as much fun as driving mine. 8^)

1972 Float Adjustment ...
Print that and make a copy to go with each rebuild kit. You would save everybody that buys the kit a lot of headache with those instructions. "Put your hands in your pockets and walk away" that's classic and should be the last sentence on every set of instructions.

1972 Float Adjustment ...
I wonder why they won't put a piece of paper in with their rebuild kit explaining that? I set mine the way the dvd shows and my car ran like $^!# for a year until someone mentioned it in a post.

ROUND TOP SU CARBURETORS FUEL PRESSURE TOLERANCE
Don't go by the clock. Go by the TEMP gauge. Mine is good when the needle lines up with the right leg of the "M". That's where the thermostat opens on my car. Use the choke or drive easy until it stops backfiring. once you get the float levels right it shouldn't stumble. Mine did it for a year until i got so fed up and adjusted them correct level. Now I can not make it stumble.

240z D Hubcap differences
The guy that lives 25' from me is an agent and surely has read my background. His three kids love me to death, wife super friendly. The agent, not too friendly but I have a key to his house and he has one for mine. So yes it has some flags but they're outnumbered.

I blame it on legalized pot
Trump doesn't drink or drug and is monogamous. If it was legal around here the only ones that would pay that tax deliver pizzas.
