Richard Thanks for the reply/info on the clutch master cylinder. The thing that I am concerned with at the moment with mine is that I cannot find Nabco written on it anywhere. On the side that is visible from the drivers side fender there is Japan and 5/8" only, no makers name. I am yet to see what is on the other side, but based preliminary investigation appears to be nothing. Are you saying that in going from the firewall along the cylinder itself you hit the line BEFORE you hit the reservoir? I have been doing some searching for details and have found this shape master used in Japanese home market cars, but am yet to see it in "export" models. Would you have a pic of yours? Thanks Joseph

Mike Thanks for the reply. I think that all master cylinders, both clutch and brake, are in imperial measurements, no matter where they were manufactured. I have the original Tokico slave and it has an imperial size. Please take a close look at the arrangement of the line into the cylinder body itself. See how in mine, if you go from the firewall to the reservoir you come across the line first; others I have seen have the line past the reservoir, going from the firewall. Joseph

Hello It looks like I may need to have my clutch master cylinder sleeved and rebuilt. I am trying to ascertain if the unit that is currently installed in my car is correct/original equipment as supplied by the factory or if it has been replaced with an aftermarket unit. I dont want to invest money into having the unit done and find out that it isnt correct. The car in question is a 1971 240z, Australian (RHD) specification. Is anyone out there able to post pics or a description of the clutch master cylinder that they have installed in there car if they know it is correct/original equipment for a 71 240z. Im not sure if the LHD and RHD markets varied as to what was factory installed. I have attached a picture of it. The text on the side visible when standing beside the drivers side front fender says 5/8" and then Japan. I havent been able to ascertain what text, if any, is on the other side as I cannot get my head in there to take a look. I tried sticking the camera in there blindly but the photo didnt work out. If anyone is able to help me out asap it would be appreciated. Regards Joseph

I think they may be the overflow hoses? They may be used to run fuel into the air cleaner box if a back up occurs in the system. Joseph

Hello Members I am trying to ascertain the correct/original specification for the hose that goes over the top of the carb body and terminates at the air cleaner. It is an air/vaccum hose. I am assuming that vaccum type hose is correct for this area. Is someone that has the correct original type Nissan hose still installed in this area able to measure both internal and external diameter of this hose for me. Length of both hoses (ie front and rear) would also be appreciated. Would someone be able to supply a genuine Nissan part number for this hose? Thanks for any reply. Regards Joseph

Hello Greg FWIW, the part number of the ones that I purchased is RUJ-1781. The universal joint is an internal circlip type, cap dimension 25mm and circlip to circlip dimension 44mm. They have a grease nipple which screws into one of the caps. They are made in Japan. Note that the company that I purchased mine from is known as Hardy-Spicer (Im in Australia); I assume they relate to Spicer in some way. They are to fit the driveshaft of a car with an original A type 5 speed transmission as standard, ie driveshaft is flanged at both ends. Regards Joseph

Hey Luke Thanks for posting the info as requested. It is a little confusing I must admit and sounds like something is strange with your car. It cannot have two numbers, and either the firewall or the b/w Datsun plate have been changed out with another car. #945 would have been complianced in 07/71 #1331 probably in 10/71 (based on the guess on my car) Hmmm, what have we opened up here! The pair stamped 55R & 55L are from an early car, the others are from a later car. My 09/71 has the 55R & L stampings. Regards Joseph

Also FWIW, if Nissan says the part is not available, dont let that stop you as there is a good chance that Warren will be able to source it for you directly from Japan. I recently bought the hose that runs from the rocker cover to the carb air intake/cleaner from Warren whereas Nissan said it was NLA. Regards Joseph

Hey Im currently trying to ascertain in the speedo cable in my car is of correct type. I know for a fact that it has been changed out previously based on a receipt that I got with my car when I purchased it from the previous owner. Is anyone out there able to take a picture of their original speedo cable for their 240z, preferably if someone has a spare out of a car, or in the car, it would be appreciated. Thanks for any help. FWIW, the price of genuine Nissan parts is usually around half of what Nissan want when you buy them from Warren. eg, few years ago I bought a new pair of genuine Nissan rubber strips of the front bumper bar of my car. Price from Warren was exactly half of what Nissan wanted. Regards Joseph
