  1. Thanks, There are a number of other hotels in the area if I am looking at the right google map. East side of Memphis off I-240. There is one across the street. Not sure about quality and the rates will be a little higher. I know several I have looked at are booked up too. CO Sure if you find something that looks good, let me know. Across the street was appealing because I wouldn't have to drive if I was having too much fun...
  2. It looks like the Memphis Hilton is all booked up...that is frustrating. don't know if I want to go and stay somewhere off site... C
  3. I like your parts washer setup. Good idea. I have the larger free standing one, but I like the idea of the counter on either side and the ability to build it to the desired height.
  4. I am planning on making it to ZCON. SWMBO has asked if it would make me sad to see all those Z's; I said it might motivate me. She said "by all means go!" So we are planning on being there Friday & Saturday. I still need to make reservations. I have been wondering how to meet up with people and how to connect usernames to real names and faces. I have the smart phone but know nothing about the App Jim recommended...
  5. When loosening those rings you have to tap one ear then move to the next one. Tap it. Continue all the way around. They will only move a little then stop if you only hit one ear. If it moves at all it will come off.
  6. That's an expensive windshield even for a Ferrari. I have priced parts for several Testarossa's & 3 series cars. I was looking at buying one wrecked and seeing what it would cost to repair. The problem is really how easy it is to crack a windshield and have to buy one.
  7. Did you see the 512 BBi in the barn finds section? Be aware needs a windshield $10,000 and a 6 month wait :o Always loved that car though...
  8. I would try to fix the tank you have. Almost always easier. Run the car as low as possible. Fuel in the tank just makes it harder. The float may be hanging up or the resistor may be bad. You could also use some of the Eastwood tank sealer for the tank.
  9. Thanks, Site I didn't have time to try to find that picture. If the vents are open the fuel aught to come out there not out the banjo bolts. Tighten them down
  10. There is another one on ebay right now that is beautiful and lots of pictures. I was watching it to see where it finishes. Pushing 20 right now. Correction $15k http://www.ebay.com/itm/221790957342?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  11. Ah but it is a "Classic Z" as its 25 years old this year. Its just not an antique Z I love it. Twin turbo, low miles. I would love to have a 300zx from that generation until I had to work on it...
  12. Do your float lids have the small vertical vent?
  13. I would think any intake leaks could cause issues.
  14. That's a nice find.
  15. That's too bad. I hate to see that. Cars like that are quickly becoming worth saving especially with the recent rise in prices.
  16. It also looks like the brake booster is deleted. Does that cause an issue with making brake pressure? Did you change the master cylinder to accommodate deleting the booster?
  17. Site, Just remember it is probably a good idea to wear a respirator or at least a dust mask. It will make it hotter but it saves your lungs. The glass is not good for breathing or the stuff coming off the aluminum. You don't really think you are breathing in that much until you blow your nose.
  18. Chickenman, How do you set the phasing? And what exactly do you mean by phasing? I don't really understand what you did. Glad you made progress though.
  19. What media are you using?
  20. Looks good John. all welded in it looks like...
  21. If the idle goes up with the booster unhooked I would suspect it is leaking. I agree drive it with the booster unhooked. BE CAREFULL you will still have brakes but no power assist.
  22. They make some beautiful stuff. I would like to have a choice on the anodizing color though...
  23. Steve, I bought a plate from Summit Racing that allows cc'ing chambers. It's a thick piece of plexiglass that you place on the head with grease as a seal. Then you use the burret or a thin graduated cylinder to fill the volume. Works really well and has repeatable results. I used the thin graduated cylinder since it doesn't need a stand.
  24. CDL1542 Those are good looking bars The thing I like about the TEP front bar is the triangulation. It is a shame they don't fit properly and the customer service is non existent. If I do this at some point I will build my own.
