Hi Beandip If I am suffering from too much air getting past worn parts, how can I check this? Carbs seem to run pretty good except I do get a bit of gunk down around the rubber hose from the bowl to the Carb. Probably seeping fuel that picks up road grime. Does anyone in Aus know where you can get a colurtune and what is the cost of these.:cross-eye Thaknks in advance Biker
  3. After five clicks, I still have not found the answer. I have an extremely s.....l....... o....... w...... modem and was to say the least getting a liitle bit frustrated. Not happy Jan and I do not have blond hair!!!! Gotta go - have to go and find the answer for the best blonde joke ever :stupid:
  4. With only one Aussie in the F1, what true blue Aussie would not be a fan of Mark Webber. Interesting to know is that there is a swag of Aussies doing well in the European circuits such as F3. However, it is not about talent getting into F1, it is about how much cash you can bring along, then talent Our home grown V8 supercars series is on again this weekend from Eastern Creek Raceway on the outskirts of Sydney. Now that is some seriously good fun and hard racing. For panel damage and tyre rubbing, it is only second to our Brute Ute Series. These are Ford and GM utilities and because of no weight in the back they move around something fierce. The panelbeaters at the track when these ute's race are busier than a bricklayer in Bagdad!! Look forward to getting hold of your Mick Doohan photo - He is still my hero because he epitomises my thoughts on what an Aussie should be.
  5. Thanks Jerry Did you create this yourself??? Who is this a picture of?? biker

Ozzy Guy I saw your car up here in Qld at the Nationals. I was too busy drooling over the engine to notice anything about loose carpet!
  8. Go z racer Bloody hell, I think you need to put a hard cover around that story and flog it off as a book! It is interesting to reflect on these chance meetings and having the opportunity to take these guys on at their game just adds to make it a great memory. You certainly have to acknowledge the quality of a master at work, doesn't one, little grasshopper. I remember doing my first year at scrutineering in the 80's at the six hour motorcycle race, Australia's premier annual 2 wheel event. The first day of practice two young guys walked up in some smick leathers especially imported from Japan by Honda. The main comment of the day was "they will have to try and live up to the reputation that precedes them!". My thoughts were at the time was that Honda must have a bit of faith in them to pay for the leathers that they were wearing. Later that year I got the chance to ride with one of them. He wasn't that bad and nearly as good as I thought I was - a legend in my own mind. The names of these two young layabouts with the fancy leathers: Wayne Gardner - 1 time world motorcycle champion Mick Doohan - 5 times world motorcycle champion You can't knock talent!! PS Myself, I have a soft spot for the "septic tanks" and any ribbing here is "tongue in cheek". You are right in regard to us having similar histories and it dates back before WW2. Did you know that the first major action seen by the American Army in WW1 was when the americans were placed into the Aussie divisions to partcipate in the battle for Hamel in France. This was the momentous victory and the strategies employed lead to being a blueprint of how to attack fortified lines. If I have been a little heavy on the slang I apologise but unfortunately you people overseas here more of it than we do here. The slang is a dying culture which would be a real shame. I suppose this is the price of turning this place into such a small world with the technology we have. PPS HS30 - Mel Gibson is a bloody aussie because he is a bloody good actor. He was only passing through the US. If he was no good, then he would be a yank and they could have him back. :classic: Biker
  9. Statement: Draw the raw prawn Definition for rest of world: Just got my imaginary tripple webers tuned for the Z car and someone wants to charge me $3000 - I would be upset - or - dont draw the raw prawn. Statement: Stone the crows (or with greater expression "Stone the flamin crows") Definition: Someone just told me that he can get 12 sec quarters out of a stock Z with just putting extra air in the tyres - I would be suprised - or - Stone the crows!!. Thought a Z slant would assist:classic: And I am not pulling the other one with the above definitions explanations:tapemouth
  10. Drop the word love from last reply little funny face dropped off the colon :stupid:
  11. I stick with the Meguiars gold class carnuba wax love: I have also found that their metal restorer is excellent for chrome.
  12. Carl Thanks for the offer on behalf of all us Aussies. Fortunately, all of our boys will be coming home safely as long as things settle down over there. biker
  13. Lest we forget
  14. Well you cannot knock a bloke for the informative banter and discussion. I am amazed that conversations can move from one unrelated subject to another without missing a beat. Banged up Z car translates to John Denver who cannot fly. Stone the crows mate!!!!!! :cheeky: BTW Took my 8 year old daughter to see the new latest released movie on Australia being Kangaroo Jack. :dead: This has set back all the educational threads that myself and the other Ozzies have been trying to introduce with snippets of Aussie Ebonics to u all. We now have talking kangaroos and what knocked me off my seat was the depiction of Alice Springs (a large city in the Northern Territory of some 200K of people) with a dirt road as a main street!!! To top it off they kept talking about Kings Canyon and the Devils Rocks being a short stroll between each other. I for one would not be interested in such a walk. If we lose another couple of tourists in the outback chasing dressed up kangaroos, this will really draw the raw prawn with the establishment. ROFL
  15. George I always thought you were of asian origin as your photo in the avatar has that look about it - something along the lines on Astro Boy! :cheeky:
  16. Carl To check out a tru blu aussie does not required turning him upside down. However, it does require some instruments and some minor irritations to the recipient. He is is judged on the language used when the instrument is applied in a careless manner. Something along the lines of "Crikey - was that a didgeredoo or are ya just happy to see me!!!!" ROFL ROFL

To N5572B You may have just solved my problem by accident. I tuned mine up last week and ever since, have had it bucking at low revs. However, when I did the valves I was quite suprised to having adjust most of the valves which was unusual. Have redone the carbys but still got the same problem thinking that the mixture was wrong. Will go to the valves now:ermm: biker
  18. Drop 2 seconds over the 1/4 mile and did not spend a cent:stupid: mmmm - might have been cheaper to sell it buy something else with a worn out V8 . With the change he could have put some new spark plugs in to get a better top speed:D
  19. Hey Ozzy Guy The Calamvale Hotel is in CalamvaleROFL ROFL Seriously though the address is Compton Road Calamvale. It is about a 40 klms drive from the Willowbank Racetrack. Directions from Willowbank. Leaving Willowbank track, turn left and follow New England Hwy north towards Brisbane for around 25 klms (This does become the Ipswich Motorway) Turn off on the Logan Motorway (just past Goodna Railway Station) follow this until you hit 1st tollgate about 10klms, pay your $1.60 for the privelige and praise the lord for private industry and government :disappoin :cheeky: Go past this tollgate for another 5klms and take the Beaudesert Road turnoff. Turn right (once you workout the flyover) towards Brisbane. Follow this road for about 5 klms and turn right into Compton Road. The pub is on the left:love: If you start at the Calamvale Pub, to get to Willowbank reverse aforementioned directions:D I am an ex mexican in a land of cane toads so if you need a hand for anything, yell out

My first reaction when I heard the warning to Syria was "bloody hell - Is George trying to make up for the perceived mistakes of WWII whereby they had the army in Europe and regretted not rolling onto Moscow as that is what Churchill wanted to do after defeating Germany.:stupid: If i was in charge of an Arab country at the moment I would be keeping a very low profile as some mad cuss might just want to shoot it off. biker
  21. biker replied to sapruns's topic in Help Me !!
Just another word of advice If you start adjusting things such as balance, air mixture, etc, take a note on where the settings are before you start e.g screw in mixture nut but count the turns until it is seated. If things go wrong, at least you can get it back to where you started :classic: biker
  22. biker replied to sapruns's topic in Help Me !!
Get someone else to do themROFL Seriously, it will all depend on what configuration you are running. If I follow the book, mine will run like a pig as I am running a cam and advanced timing. It states that you need one turn on the screw underneath. I found that mine will run better with two turns. I think it is also essential that you get a balancing tool to get them right. Once you achieve this, car will run nice and smooth :cheeky: Biker
  23. I am running with KYB which were around $120 each in Brisbane. I could not afford the Koni as they were twice the price. biker
  24. Sparuns I used to think the same thing about getting everything chromed but after seeing a few efforts on this site from metal polishing, I will probably stick with the polishing. Gives you something to do on lonely wintry nights biker:cry:
  25. I hope to be there as a spectator. Thought about an entry to the sprints but could not get past the missus for the cash. Just watch out for the green metallic front end dented Z:love: Might not look pretty but I have got it handling well:devious:
