Hurricane Katrina
If I didn't know any better, I would think you were talking about neighborhood gang violence. The only difference is that the people in the dome actually SAY they saw these things happening. These things happen because the people around them ALLOW it to happen.

Hurricane Katrina
George, I believe you've hit the nail on the head. I wish you could send this to the "Hollywood" news and "disaster relief" shows who continue to pound the Prez as we speak. These influential people are so shortsighted that they can't see past their ratings.

trying to find p o
I've had good luck with this. 1-area code-555-1212. Since you have the address, you will be able get their phone number this way, that is, if the number is listed.

Gas Prices?
Here's a tool someone sent me that seems pretty accurate: http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gasstations.aspx It's based on ZIP codes, so it should work to check prices anywhere (worldwide?) If you have a pop-up blocker you might have to disable it for this to work.

It ain't pretty, but its mine.
Hey Ian, some of the most beautiful women were gangly and homely when they were young. You appear to have made good progress on the body. Keep at it and she'll be a beauty when you're finished!

Driveshaft Removal
I know from personal experience that the u-joint on a 280z driveshaft is not replaceable in the conventional sense. It is pressed in at the factory and requires a press to replace it. When I ran into this problem, I bought a replacement driveshaft from MSA that comes with a replaceable u-joint. It worked very well, and I think I paid about $150 for it about 5 years ago. It did not come with bolts and nuts.I used a box end wrench to turn the nuts and a steel spike, about 16" long, through the opening in the u-joint, to secure it while turning the nut. Also, by having the rear end up on jack stands (a must for safety), I didn't have issues with the transmission fluid leaking out after I pulled the driveshaft. The most helpful thing I did for this procedure was to have patience. Good luck.

Hurricane Katrina
Nate, first off, I'd like to help you bring the balance back toward the center by saying that I concur with this statement as well as all that I've read in your posts in this thread. It smacks of the importance of taking personal responsibility for your well being. Too many people would rather take the "me too" approach and blame the head guy instead of getting all the facts, then ACTING on them. Recent estimates are saying 3 months just to pump out the city. And most homes, after being flooded for that long, will have to be bulldozed down and rebuilt. Can you say "stilts"?

Hurricane Katrina
You can also blame short sided economics. Pay now to prepare for the eventual superstorm, like the Netherlands have, or pay later in catastrophic losses. Everybody KNOWS this is Bush's fault. He had to know better. After all, he's got an MBA from Harvard! Maybe he slept through the meteorology class. Ya, that's it! That makes him the dumbest moron we ever "didn't" elect. It's GOTTA be HIS fault.

Talk about Coincidences!
It's an adjective masquerading as a noun. It's also the results of people who have been IM'ing (instant messaging) too much over a long period of time (until they need help). You know, the same type of people who think taking the time to fill in all their information when they sign up with the club, is a waste of time. Proof reading is forbidden or left for someone else to do for them. The really noticable ones don't even waste time with capitalization or punctuation. They must speak their whole day in one long, exhausting sentence, without ceasing to take a breath, and eventually pass out due to lack of oxygen. Do what I do when I come across one of these posts. I pass them by. P.S. Bill, this isn't aimed at you. Consider it a rant.

removing plastic rear 1/4 panels
It's been a long time since I had my '78 280z, but I recall when I replaced the antenna in it I had to take the fiberboard deck out to remove the panel. Try that. But like I said, it's been many years, and my brain leaks too.

It looks like a Scouting pinewood derby car! If it is, it must have done well to be mounted like that. It looks fast too!

oil change
They're identical. The engine, and oil pan are the same from the 240z on up through the 280zx. Here's a shot of the oil pan, thanks to kenz240z, taken from under the car, looking forward:

Advice on fixing shift boot
erikgiles, I hope you don't mind me being blunt, but the wheels look cheap. If you don't have alot of money to spend right now, you could look into putting black steel "D-hole" style wheels on it with chrome lug nuts and maybe chrome center hubs. They're not much money compared to the Panasports or Watanabes and I think they'd look much better than what you have now. I think these wheels give an early "works" look to the Z.Here's one supplier: http://www.uswheel.com/wheels/Daytona87_84.htm Here's another:http://www.bassettwheel.com/steel.html You might have to call them to see if they'll drill them for a Z.

Hey Sideshow, could you find/supply the Home Depot part or item numbers? Having that number to refer to would eliminate any wierd looks and head scratching from the guy/girl at Home Depot. Also, do you know the screw size you used, like a #4 or #6? I'll second that request on some pictures! Did you try hot glueing the rubber strip to the metal? I know my wife uses one on just about everything! She could probably hot glue a tree to air with that sucker!! Thanks for the tip and further help (in advance, of course). Rob- Seat mechanism covers
I've run into a glitch with the manufacturing of the covers. The process used to produce them shrinks them too much and has made the first batch of covers unusable. I'll see if something can be done to remedy this problem, then get back to you all. Sorry for the delay, Rob- Is this a good deal or what?
- what is the size of the trunk in a 240Z?
Well E Train, now that you're becoming more of an adult, you really should think about trunk space. I know for a FACT that a 7ft. Christmas tree will fit in the back of a '75 280Z!!! So, there ya go! When your dad makes remarks about your new (to you) 240Z, you'll have some ammunition for a rebuttal!- Your First car.
That kind of looks like a cartoon car. It definately has more visual character than a Rambler!- Fuel injector wires
What, help with disabling your brother so he doesn't screw anything else up? - The window sqeege
