What worst car have you bought ever?
My worst car was an ’85 Lincoln Mark VII LSC. A beautiful car, but EVIL! Before I picked it up brand new from the dealer, some lot jockey dented the door and they had to repair it. In the seven years I owned it, the car went through four sets of front rotors, two timing chains, a complete set of engine gaskets, the radio, two computers, thermostat and radiator, outside rear view mirror, multiple engine sensors, window control switches, load leveler failure, brake failure twice, and loss of all systems (lights, engine, brakes, pneumatic suspension, and power steering) while driving three car pool buddies to work an hour before dawn on the coast highway between Ventura and Carpenteria (absolutely dark!). We traded it in at a dealership where my wife worked. Two weeks later the general manager told her a perspective buyer of our trade-in drove it home to show his wife, and brought her out to see that it was on fire. My wife also had a new ’79 Mustang that fried all the dashboard wiring two weeks after she bought it. Gotta love old Fords!

A trip to costco
Actually Rick, this wasn't something that I did. A friend of mine sent the story to me, and I assumed it was just a funny story. I too wish I were that quick with witty replies to dumb questions.

A trip to costco
Yesterday I was at my local COSTCO buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for my loyal pet, Biscuit the Wonder Dog, and was in the checkout line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What, did she think I had an elephant? So, since I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.) Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff an Irish Setters butt and a car hit us both. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard. Costco won't let me shop there anymore. Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say.

i need a rust free unibody
I need a wrinkle free body! 18-24 year old, muscular build preferred. All kidding aside. If you wouldn't mind having one shipped from California, let me know. I have a Datsun mechanic friend who might have one or two he's used as parts cars. Good luck. Rob

Paint color for wheel chocks
It's been a while since I've seen mine, but school bus yellow should be pretty close. Otherwise, =Enigma= has the best idea for now.

GM will always be around. Lest we forget .... government programs last forever.- ID These Wheels Anyone?
- MSA Twice pipes
Your pipes sound wonderful. Is it me, or did I hear an exhaust ticking sound, possibly from a gasket leak? Congradulations are in order! Rob- Well, It's not an S30 but...
...I wouldn't throw it back into the lake! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090102/ap_on_bi_ge/eu_britain_supercar- hi, i'm rob
Welcome to the club. You'll find a lot of helpful information, links to vendors, and thoughtful people here. I'd recommend that you take your time and enjoy your experience with your new toy. According to his public profile, his is a 72 with a 5 speed.- Refurbished engines
Ten years ago I bought an engine from ATK for my 75 Z with a 36 month/3 year warranty. 3k miles later I spent over $700 having it repaired because ATK used a cheap head gasket and didn't replace 3 badly pitted head bolts when they rebuilt it. And no, they wouldn't pay for the repairs nor claim responsibilty for their inferior work. I'd look elsewhere... Rob- 78' 280z NEED HELP!
Do you know what shape your injectors are in? I haven't has this happen to me, but a long time ago a "Datsun only" mechanic friend of mine told me to avoid running my tank dry. He said it's possible to have debris lying on the bottom of the tank get up to the injectors and clog them. I believe he said they can be cleaned and re-used. Good luck, Rob- L28 Engine/Shop Recommendation
More speed=more money:laugh:- I just passed traffic school ! !

In that case, you won't have to worry about seeing anything except the GT-R's tailights, and that won't last very long.- I broke it and I don't know what it is!!!
- Our Dog Died Today
Luke, all, Here's a little something to cheer you up. A dog is truly a man's best friend. If you don't believe it, just try this experiment. Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of the car for an hour. When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you!? Hope this helps, Rob- New Club DVD!
Hi Mike, If you'd like to get that wiring daigram scanned in one pass, call your local graphics reproduction shop or HP distributor that specializes in engineering document reproduction and ask them if the have a large format scanner. If they do, you could have them scan it to a file and also make you a copy to use in the garage, enabling to keep the original pristine. You might consider having the repro shop make you enough copies to sell here at the club and add on a little to cover your initial costs.:classic: Hope this helps, Rob- Illegal window tint
Unless the laws have changed in the last few years, California doesn't allow ANY tint on the front side windows or windshield. You can, however, paint the remaining windows black if you want to, as long as you have outside rear view mirrors on both sides of the vehicle.- Illegal window tint
I've gotten cited for this very exact violation. Twice!:stupid: The reason I was given is that the tint on the drivers and front passengers window reduces outward visability at night. So my question is, is it illegal to drive at night wearing sunglasses? I agree somewhat with the explanation about being a safety issue for the police, to an extent. If that's the case, then a gunman can be sitting in the back seat making that argument sink like a rock.- The Hillbilly Vasectomy
THE HILLBILLY VASECTOMY After their 11th child, an Arkansas couple decided that was enough, as they could not afford a larger bed. So the husband went to his veterinarian and told him that he and his cousin didn't want to have any more children. The doctor told him that there was a procedure called a vasectomy that could fix the problem but that it was expensive. 'A less costly alternative,' said the doctor, 'is to go home, get a cherry bomb, (fireworks are legal in Arkansas) light it, put it in a beer can, then hold the can up to your ear and count to 10.' The Arkansas man said to the doctor, 'I may not be the smartest tool in the shed, but I don't see how putting a cherry bomb in a beer can next to my ear is going to help me.' 'Trust me,' said the doctor. So the man went home, lit a cherry bomb, and put it in a beer can. He held the can up to his ear and began to count! '1' '2' '3' '4' '5' At which point he paused, placed the beer can between his legs, and continued counting on his other hand. This procedure also works in Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri, Florida, West Virginia, and Washington, DC.- What's the longest trip you've made in your Z?
1100 miles from Orange, Ca. to Olympia, Wa. in June, 1982. Worked in Seattle 3 mos., then back down To Ventura, Ca. The first night of trip to Olympia spent in a KOA camp where I slept in the Z ('78 280). Did you know there are some old parts of Olympia that aren't on a map anywhere? Amazingly enough my friend lived in a house built in the 40's on a street that didn't appear on any local maps! - Check out my new tattoo!!
