  1. Bob, I suggest that you give a call to Steve or Bruce tomorrow. They area at Ztherapy here in Salem and might be able to work with you on this. It sounds to me that you might have a needle issue. Replacing the SU needles and seats should help out. I am suspicious of the needle because it took you 4 turns to get it to work right. Anyway, their website is: http://www.ztherapy.com .
  2. I'm not sure if it's recommended to use a camera with image stabilizer or not. But, you might want to check to make sure to check that out. Also, there are many new cameras with hard drives instead of tapes. If I used a camcorder, I would consider that feature because there are no tapes required. However, I'm not sure how well they handle the vibration. How much are you looking at spending?

I found this while browsing the web tonight. It looks like this guy did a Nissan 240z concept for his automotive industrial project. http://www.portfolios.com/profile.html?MyUrl=Camus
  4. True, stay away from anybody selling a car with ZERO feedback. Small, low-cost items aren't that risky, but, a higher-dollar item is too much risk. Then again, you never know... perhaps it's somebody who never used ebay in the past ? EDIT: After looking at the car dealers site, I seriously doubt they just signed up. Nice find guys. Someone would have to run out there and take a look at the car before committing to an auction.
  5. In this case, Pennyman, the dampening system for the oscillation is simple. Place a carbon-based metacarpus (preferably two) against the oscillating object(s) and the shock will severly dampen.
  6. I don't think it's a problem if you use this club to describe YOUR OPINIONS about a car on Ebay, Craigs List, etc.. But, please make sure you never condemn somebody directly based on these opinions. This isn't a place to attack, rather, it's a place to talk about opinions, ideas, and factual data.

I wouldn't go far into assuming the technology doesn't exist. The government has been working on many different propulsion technologies for a number of years. One of my buddies at work used to be on a team working with magnetic propulsion. Look up the term "magnetic propulsion" or "ion engine" on the Internet and you'll find a ton of data surrounding this research. I'd love to find a car that could run on this kind of technology. Only problem right now is the electrical supply.

For all of you who thought we'd all be in flying cars by the year 2000. It's almost a reality. Well, if you have $1M, then it's a reality NOW. http://www.moller.com/
  9. Merry Christmas to everyone!! Hope all of you have a great time with the family and try not to hang out on the website all week!
  10. Jason, I just added them as attachments so you can use the reference material.
  11. If you were to specifically head out camping for an extended time, I'm not sure a Z would be the best option. But, a tent and all the normal camping gear would be required. You could possibly fit it all into a classic Z. I once drove from Portland, Oregon to San Diego, CA with my sister and my girlfriend. They took turns laying down in the back of the car even with all of our luggage. I also spent the night in the woods after a long motorcycle cruise into the mountains. My buddy and I had cigars, whiskey, two sleeping bags, and a warm clear night. Slept right on the ground. McDonalds in the morning and we were good for another day of cruising. You can't do that right now in the Pacific NW, but, it's certainly possible in the summertime. Why do you ask? Did your old lady kick you out?
  12. If you want to be an engineer you will have to have a grasp of the basics! I pity the non-engineers who cannot discern the sinusoidal motion on the part of the subject. Us engineers, on the other hand, take delight in burying ourselves in such interesting research. Describing simple harmonic movement. 1) For engineering types: 2) For non-engineering types: I hope this has been a valuable lesson you will remember for the rest of your life! Professor Mike EDIT: Added images as attachments for those who cannot see the images due to content filtering: engineering-1.gif is for the engineering types, engineering-3.gif is for the non-engineering types
  13. I thought you installed a custom switch, duh!
  14. I was going to say that most radios will have a lead which can control your new power antennae. So, I'm not sure why you wanted a switch. But, after reading the thread to the end, it looks like you sorted-out your issue. Post some pictures!
  15. Wow, that would be a sweet addition to a Z. Isn't that engine the same length as an early model S30 ?

Good points... I'm wasn't too sure about the 'blending' process, so, I'll ask the guy to repaint using the matching process. Not sure exactly why he didn't do this in the first place, but, I'll check to see about getting the buckets to match correctly.

Hi all, I recently had my front headlight buckets and valance painted by a local shop. The paint on my car is about 3-4 years old and was a pretty standard PPG color. The shop found the color and purchased a can of the same stuff. However, when they painted the headlight buckets, the new paint is slightly off and it stands out. I believe the color on my car has turned a bit darker over the years, so, the standard PPG color code is no longer applicable. My question is... Is this a pretty common problem? I'm sure it would be tough to find an exact match, but, what is normally done to make these colors match without an obvious line? The shop mentioned they were going to paint my fenders and 'blend' the colors together so there isn't an obvious line. But, they want some additional money to perform the blend. Do you think I should pay for the blending job? Or, is this a normal situation and it's justified ? FYI, the work performed by this shop is reputable and trustworthy. I just need to know where I should negotiate or if this is a common painting issue.
  18. A piece of tape on the bottom of his computer mouse is a good one. If it's a ball-mouse, simply remove the ball.

  20. I put a bunch of Bquiet down on my car before laying in the carpet. I don't have anything between the carpet and the Bquiet stuff (except for the jute backing). While I glued down the carpet on tunnel, the carpet under the foot area does slide around. It might be nice to put down some velcro or something to keep the carpet in place. You probably ran across my post about the Bquiet install I did last year.
  21. Now that's damn funny. LOL LOL I should do that. m
  22. What couldn't you get to work in our Classifieds? HA, anyone notice how HybridZ copies everything I do here.... that classified module looks very familiar.
  23. Yep, David those are the dolls. I have no idea why they are at the car shows.
  24. I've actually seen these dolls at american-car hot-rod type shows. I also thought it was strange, but, someone told me that it's pretty common.

Hi Jerry. I just approved all of your photos. What size finally worked for you? I noticed they are pretty small. The image upload limit is 1MB each, which is pretty big, but, I wonder if I should up that limit... Update: I checked the gallery and it looks like the maximum file size is 30MB! But, the image size limit was 1024x768. I just changed the image size limit to 2048x1536. This is a 3 Megapixel imgage size.
