240Z Model
That revell kit is 1/24th scale. The only 1/12th scale kit I know of is the one released by Tamiya. Fujimi might have one, however I am not all that familiar with their kits. THe tamiya kit is a G nose 240 and is brown in color on the box. It's a great kit and mine is almost done!!

need help keeping positive attitude
beandip, as with what everyone else said...don;t get discouraged. i am in the same timeframe as Kmack and that was due to no funds and then I was in an apartment for three years so I could only visit the storage unit once a month and ahve a look at the car. Now that one has turned into three:stupid: I have a big collage of Z pictures in the garage so when I need inspiration I just have a look and then I can see the vision again. If you're married, stop doing chores around the house and when the wife hollars, hollar back and then storm out to the garage. The car will be done in no time then

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh
I can very well see your points. My previous GF of five years that I thought I was going to marry found any one of my hobbies nothing more than toys and a waste of time. I wasn;t the harvard material neither her or her father wanted however she couldn;t be without me and you want to talk about games....that relationship was like an episode of wheel of fortune. One spin got the big prize, the next.....bankrupt. I have been with my current GF for over three years and only living with her for about a year. Not only does she embrace my cars, ( I currently have three Z cars) she wants one of her own. I also see about 150 concerts a year, and record about every concert I go to which she happily deals with (I'm the dork standing by the microphone stand in the crowd). Also, I have had a pilots license for almost 10 years. I couldn't ask for a more understanding GF that is totally cool with what I have going on as long as in between all of those thigns I mentioned I make some time for her and bring her flowers now and again

Does putting a small block chevy in a Z drop it's value?
I guess that really depends on supply and demand. As the number of original un-molested cars decreases their value is sure to increase. Certainly an early model car with matching numbers is worth a lot more to the purist than a modified example. While I do not support the V8 conversion in any way whatsoever, there are a dedicated number who desire to own them so I guess it;s really a matter of personal preference.

Yikes!!! Look what's for sale here
God this has to be one of the ugliest things on the planet. This sort of thing is just as bad as the 4X4 280. No Z should ever be forced to look like that. I'm saying a prayer....
-
What do you want your Z to be worth?
we'd probably be forced to own farty exhausted honda's

What do you want your Z to be worth?
I want to see the wrecking yards full of them so I can scoop them all up for cheap and bring them home....only to revive each and every one in order to keep as many of them on the road and original as possible. I would keep many aside to sell to ITS guys to keep them in winning racing history but keep them out of the clutches of butchers grafting massive wings and farty exausts to them. nothing hurts me more than to see these cars turned into a 6 X 6 cube of recycled metal.

Dash swap 260z to 77 280z
You will have no problem mounting the 260 dash in the 280. There aren't any differances that I came across in bolt patterns when I compared my 78 dash to my 74... I think either escanlon or 2many can comment about what products they recommend on dash preservation

Does any know
hardware stores have been known to carry these. I also have found them on the help racks at auto parts stores.

does anyone happen to know...
Thanks 2 many! I remember years ago I swapped doors on my 78 2+2 for a set of 75's. After much care hanging my gorgeous 50 dollar set of doors, I went to close the door and it bounced right back at me.
-
anybody want to suggest a value on this Z?
KMACK is correct!!!! Substantial rust along the rocker. Bring it on! I'll see your rotted rockers and raise you no firewall, floors and inner fender well. Honestly though, rockers 39.99 a piece, are easily cut out with an air chisel, and straightforward enough to MIG in place. Post some pics!

sorry If I was vague...I mean the door catches. I have a set of 78 doors and I need to know if they will work on a 76. The catches were changed however I am not sure when!

if the door latches on a 76 280 are the old or newer style found on the 77/78 cars
