Original Battery
I have to go to my storage and look at the dimensions, but I know that the hole is for servicing the battery. (Auto battery consists of 6 Cells x2.1V=12.60V) EPA/DOT prohabited servicable battery here in US in mid 70's......(Servicable battery has 6 screwed caps so you can add fluid into the battery cells) This fits right on(with battery frame) any regular battery you but a auto parts store...... So you have this on the top of the battery with original battery terminals, it should look pretty close to original one. Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com

Original Battery
Original battery should have one of those for US cars, while Japanese spec car had a smaller battery with a tool box sits on the top..... And original cable ends are different from termainal ends you can buy at the auto store today.(It is smaller with black rubber protector) Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com

Wheel cylinder
You do not yunk it out. All you gotta to do is to hit the yoke next to the joint, so joint slowly pops out. Please do not forget to put some WD40 to make it happen quicker...... Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com

Need to raise the rear end a little
I believe that insulatiors(at the top of the springs) are available from MSA for that. If not you need a set of new springs. Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com

19K mile 260Z video
I remember this car, I do not know how much it went for, but again, I do not believe it represents actual mileage of 19K by looking at over all condition. Steering wheel is all shiny, seats are dull, front fenders have been repainted, engine room condition.......... Esprist

You have done my 4 screw carbs as well as my friend's 3 screw carbs. They are excellent! As matter of fact, it is way better than factory ones. I have rebuilt so many of them, but none of them turn out as good as yours. Especially your throttle shaft with roller bearings. My car idles smooth like an injected car. I strongly recommend your SU set up to everyone! Thanks a bunch! Esprist- Z Car Collectibles

I do not believe this is the right radiator for the car. And installing MSA shrould will not help the situation at all. Raight radiator should cure the problem. Esprist www.jdm-car-part.com- Speedometer O-Ring Replacements - Tips Needed
By the way, try to save the roll pin that holds the cog in place. That one is metric and very very hard to get here in U. S. I tried every hardware stores around here in L.A. No luck. So I had it shipped from Japan.(Very cheap, but the time while I was waiting just for that......) Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com- Speedometer O-Ring Replacements - Tips Needed
------------------------------------------------------------- OK. I have done this many times, so I could help you here little bit. First, you do not have to drain the fluid as long as you back your car up on the ramp(so the car is tilted toward front). When you remove the speedo cable and the cog, it will leak little, but not much. Then, dig out the seal inside the cog, and replace the outer seal(any hardware shop or auto parts shop will have one). Done. I have a picture of the parts here. Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com- Creating Series 1 steering wheel out of Series 2 steering wheel
I just wanted to show you this cool conversion to make a series 2 steering wheel look like series 1 steering wheel. (Picture shown is JDM Series 2 steering wheel) You cut a piece off an aluminum panel in a shape of the slots, and then fit it right in without using any glue. Make sure it is tight fit. This conversion is still in process by a shop in Torrance,CA, since this is kind'a killing free time project.......If you pay someone to do it, it would be cheaper to buy a real Series 1 steering wheel after all. Oh, well....... (Courtesy of M. Matsuoka at M's Factory in Torrance, CA ) Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com- Head gasket seeping - advice sought
Over heated? It could certainly do bad on the head, but Not necessary........ Copper spray definitely helps to seal the gasket better, but streightless of block and head is a must especially if you are installing metal gasket with studs. Esprist jdm-car-parts.com- Head gasket seeping - advice sought
The answer is "NO" You shouldn't need it. I would used capper spray on Genuine Nissan headgasket(very well made) and used RTV sealant only where head, block and front cover meet. Esprist jdm-car-parts.com- Wheel cylinder

I ship cars to Japan all the time, and here is the problem with your loving Z car. Most Lo/Lo docs are operated by the union, and most of the drivers do not drive cars with soul. Besides that, as of this past April, unless you have an anual permit(cost $150 and few classes) , you cannot dive your car into the berth. ( I normally take proof photos upon shipment in the doc, so I can claim any damages later) . Now container is better idea, but cost more money (Freight seems cheaper than Lo/Lo ship, but you will pay more money at the end, becuase of doc fees and all the other cost). But container protects your car from damages, abusive driving, and most of all "rust". I am always amased how fast components under car get rusty......... I ship cars on a container when it comes to very historical, expensive, or rare car. Esprist www.jdm-car-parts.com- Head gasket seeping - advice sought
If you see head gasket leak wether it is oil or water, first thing you need to do is that you need to take off the head, measure the worpage of the head and block. Normally more-torque to the bolts are not recommended. Sometimes, it gets worse by doing so. Most old Z cars (streight 6 is a long engine) have this problem regardess of mileage on the car. If you are not driving it everyday, please keep your eyes on oil and coolant condition and level. If it starts to leak into the combustion, you will see a steam coming out from dip stick hole and PCV passage(or creamy water at oil filler cap). If you see consistant loss of water, then you might consider removing the head off for farther diagnosis.(Machine shop will tell you all) Good luck! Esprist- Decals
