My new toy (Nissan content)
Very cool. Like the patina. I just love these trucks!!! Have always been my favorite body style pickup period!! Well this and the Chevy C10's from late 60's-early 70's.

My new toy (Nissan content)
I have always thought the Nissan 720 4x4 was the best looking pickup ever made. I had a really nice 85 a few years ago that I had to sell to get some cash. It had some rust in the body mounts and the bedside but was perfect otherwise. Well today I went and got another. Only this one has 75k original miles, all service records and absolutely ZERO rust anywhere!!!! I thought my next car would be an S30 but this was too cool to pass on. It's a 1986 Extra cab 4x4 sport truck.

24 months of intensive restoration, and I'm almost done.
OMG!!!! I bow down to your car. Simply the best S30 I have seen yet on this forum

24 months of intensive restoration, and I'm almost done.
I can't wait to see this thread when I get home. My dad and I can't see pictures from work. I have been thinking about installing an SR in my Z (once I finally get one) I am glad to see someone else is doing it. I had always thought it would be a terrific engine for the Z reducing weight while also allowing lots of room for a trick IC setup (mounted at a 45 angle in front of the motor). Only thing I wondered was weight split. I was shocked when we weighed my dads lime 72 and it was a perfect 50/50. I worried that the SR might actually screw up the distribution.

Poly bushing : Not worth it ?
I had the dreaded squeaks in my BMW as I have poly subframes and trailing arm bushings. My indy decided to use self tapping grease fittings and installed them where the two parts of the subframe bushing meet. Now he can just pump those suckers with grease whenever they make noise Literally just had this done yesterday so I will keep you updated. He was able to get a good amount of grease in there on the first pump and said it oozed out of all sides so... job well done

TEXACO CAR OF THE DECADES - Contest
James, Nice avatar^ My friend Jan Tronsden Esteban did that rendering He is a really cool guy with a sweet 510 and S30. He is building his S30 into that rendering!!! Zwolf... I voted for your car. It's quite a project. Glad to see who the owner is. I saw you on SOTW last month and I see your car is now the #1 of all Datto's and mine is #2 on cardomain

bald tires
ahh. Thanks for clarifying Arne
-
bald tires
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe R rated to be the softest tires you can get. Only H rated tires will last that long. of course much of it has to do with how you drive and how well your car is aligned. I have R's on my BMW and I go through rear tires about every 4-6 months Of course I have a bit of negative camber as my car is so low and I also drive it like I stole it .

Tamiya 1/12th scale Z
I am interested in the rally version. Is that the one you have? There are plenty of the ZG kits still available.

Tamiya 1/12th scale Z
Please let me know if you want to sell any 1/12 kits. Tamiya are my favorites as well. I didn't see the conversion kit on that site I will have to look into the kit conversion. The guy in the first link building the one with brake lines etc is having a set of watanabes made. He also has the rally kit and I asked if he could get carbs and the front end parts cast as well. BTW, those brake lines etc are not part of the kit. The guy's name is Greg who is building the kit in the first link I posted in #1. He is a true artist!!! I do plan on doing many of the same things he is doing though

Tamiya 1/12th scale Z
Are you following on flickr? You know that link I posted #1 wasn't my build right? That is another guy on the model car forum. His build is amazing!!! I don't if I am that skilled But I do plan on going all out with wires, brake lines, linkages etc. I also plan to drill out molded bolts and use real ones for suspension etc. I am going to go back to the junkyard out to pasture thread. Maybe I can take submissions of peoples "out to pasture Z's" and recreate a members back yard Z. As a G nose of course......
